using carlite carsharing again experience

so today I rented a car from carlite for 2 hour around there, so I paid $11 for booking, as I need to wash laundry that requires a big bag and heavy load even driving for a short distance.

car rental booking charges: $11.97

petrol because previous renter did not fill up so have to use spare cash to fill up: $15

parking: $1.90

total breakdown: $28.87

I think is slightly more expensive than taking grab as its short distance but I think is worth the convenience as I have a heavy large laundry bag to carry and taking bus may not be comfortable and taxi may have to wait for drivers

Carlite Compensate me $20 e wallet as previous renter did not fill up the car which is very reasonable and can go fir extra joyride. if there is any suggestions as im thinking of renting from Tribe or Getgo. but to me i will stick with carlite

... Read moreSharing a personal experience with short-term carsharing, I found Carlite to be a practical choice when I had to carry a bulky, heavy laundry bag over a short distance. While the total expenditure of around $29 — including booking fees, petrol refueling due to the previous renter's negligence, and parking — was a bit higher than ride-hailing services like Grab, the flexibility and convenience made up for the cost difference. One important aspect I noticed was how Carlite handled the petrol issue: they compensated me $20 in an e-wallet for having to top up the fuel, which showed a customer-focused approach rarely seen in similar services. This gesture allowed me to use the additional credit for some leisure driving, enhancing the overall value of the rental. Comparing to other carsharing brands such as Tribe or GetGo, Carlite stands out for its responsiveness and customer care. However, pricing can vary depending on short-distance trips, and those mainly concerned about cost might want to explore ride-hailing or traditional taxis, though they can be less comfortable or require waiting time. For users considering carsharing for errands that involve transporting bulky or heavy items, Carlite proves worthwhile. The ease of booking, access to vehicles, and the ability to control your own schedule are significant benefits. Additionally, it’s always good to check the car’s fuel level beforehand and notify the service if refill is needed to avoid extra costs. Overall, my experience suggests that while not the cheapest option, Carlite's customer service and convenience make it a reliable choice for short, practical trips, especially when carrying heavy loads.

Car or no car?
Back when I was pregnant, many friends asked if we're planning to buy a car to ferry the kids around. We thought long and hard about it, but it did not make sense with the high COE prices 🤔 In the end, we decided to try doing without a car first and if it gets too difficult, we will reconsid

is having a car license @ 18 REALLY necessary?? SPEND 4K???? ACCIDENT????
Short answer: no. If you’re a student like me working part-time, I’ve realised that getting my license was not only expensive, but I also don’t use it as much as I expected. Of course, if you’re adventurous and not lazy, go for it! I just learned things the hard way. I spent about $4,000 — ye
