worst experience with Carlite

rented a car with Carlite today as i need to bring my grandparents out to orchard for a family lunch. so rented the car for 4 hours and 30 minutes which is $27 and $10 for parking which is worth than taking taxi as taking taxi for both trips is around $60 plus.

so when I rented the car, all of the lights came on, Engine check light, steering wheel, Traction control and worst is Handbrake failed. and I have called the customer service, they told me just drive and ignore the signs, it will not breakdown, WTH! when I was driving the car kept shaking, and stalled once at traffic light. as I can say Carlite cars are poorly maintained and im not sure does breakdown lead to liability charges for the hirer. this is not the first time renting a car from carlite with this issues. but at least the car still drivable till I reach home from orchard.

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: ⭐⭐ (Half)

💰 Price: $27 for 4 hours 30 mins and $10 parking as its in attas shopping mall

... Read moreSharing a personal experience with car rentals, especially from Carlite, I realize the importance of vehicle safety and reliable customer support. Renting a car with warning lights such as engine check, traction control, and handbrake failure lit up is alarming and puts passengers' safety at risk. When I faced a similar situation, the car shook continuously and even stalled at a traffic light, which could have led to dangerous moments on busy roads. What added to the frustration was the customer service advising me to 'just drive and ignore the signs,' which felt irresponsible and dismissive. For anyone considering renting from Carlite, be sure to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before leaving the lot, and don't hesitate to request another car if there are any warning signs. It’s also wise to understand the liability in case of breakdowns; unclear policies may cause unexpected charges. In my experience, the cost savings of renting from Carlite ($27 plus $10 parking) compared to taxis was tempting, but the safety concerns and car reliability issues outweighed the price advantage. From a user-generated content perspective, sharing this feedback helps others make informed decisions and encourages rental companies to prioritize maintenance and customer safety. Furthermore, checking the car’s dashboard indicators immediately — as shown in my case where multiple warning lights came on and the RPM readings indicated irregular engine behavior — is crucial. Never ignore engine or handbrake warnings; these systems are critical for safe driving. If a vehicle stalls or shakes, it indicates serious mechanical issues requiring professional service before use. Ultimately, while car rentals offer convenience, especially for family outings or trips, safety and vehicle condition must always come first. I hope my experience encourages both renters and rental companies like Carlite to focus more on thorough vehicle inspections and responsive customer service to prevent similar incidents in the future.
