Bunny sanctuary

SO many bunnies this year!

Although many get frustrated because they love gardens- I’m here for them, and all their cuteness. My house is a bunny safe zone!

I’ve gotten closer to them than ever this year. I’ll turn a corner and they are right there… frozen.

I wave, say hello and slowly walk away. Years past they race into greenery 9/10 times.. but not this year! I’d like to be delusional and think they understand I’m on their side, a friend.

Seeing so many has the adhd in me researching their sprit meanings. Ive concluded rabbits (bunnies) can bring luck, increased creativity, & mean you are overcoming fears and anxiety.

I can resonate with all of it.

I am not well versed with the spirit of animals and their meanings, but I’d like to learn more and I will take the bunnies as a good sign from the universe✨

The 3rd picture was my bunny, Shea. A family pet growing up. I was 16 when that picture was taken, it was my last with him. I never have had a cat as a pet. But.. he was like our cat. Our little bunny-cat. Trained to go to the bathroom in his cage, roamed the house free, loved to sit with us, got along with the dogs, would get the zoomies and hop around the house. Shea was SO smart and FRIENDLY.

So, as a tribute to him, my special bunny that I will love forever & never forget.

My home will always be a bunny sanctuary

... Read moreIt’s so heartwarming to see so many wild bunnies thriving in my garden this year! My little piece of the world has truly become a bunny sanctuary, and it’s a feeling I cherish deeply. Like many of you, I used to worry about my garden plants, but seeing their innocent faces and playful hops, I’ve learned to embrace them. If you’re looking to create your own ‘bunny safe zone’ – whether for wild visitors or your own beloved pet – it’s simpler than you might think, and incredibly rewarding. For wild bunnies, it’s all about coexistence. Instead of fighting nature, I've found ways to welcome them. For instance, planting bunny-friendly herbs and flowers around the edges, like clover or dandelions (which they adore!), can sometimes distract them from your prized vegetables. Making sure there are safe, brushy areas or tall grass where they can hide from predators is also key. I’ve noticed they feel much safer when they have quick cover. And always, *always*, avoid harmful pesticides or chemicals that could hurt them or the natural ecosystem they’re a part of. Just observing them as they munch on the vibrant green grass or dart between flowers brings such a peaceful energy to my day. Beyond the physical sanctuary, I’ve been fascinated by the spiritual meanings often associated with rabbits. It really resonated with me when I researched that bunnies can symbolize luck, increased creativity, and signify overcoming fears and anxiety. For me, seeing these little creatures thrive feels like a constant reminder from the universe to embrace change and trust my own resilience. It’s like their gentle presence whispers a message of hope, especially during challenging times. Perhaps you’ve also felt that unexplainable connection to an animal, a sign that speaks directly to your soul? And of course, my home wouldn't be a bunny sanctuary without thinking of my sweet Shea. He was more than just a pet; he was family. He taught me so much about unconditional love and how intelligent and affectionate bunnies can be. The memory of him, sitting so close, is still so vivid. If you’re lucky enough to have a bunny like Shea, you know they’re unique companions. Training him to use a litter box in his cage allowed him to roam freely, just like a cat, and his playful ‘zoomies’ around the house were pure joy. For anyone considering a bunny, remember they need space, proper diet, and lots of love and patience. They truly become part of your heart. Creating a bunny sanctuary, in its truest essence, means opening your heart to these wonderful creatures, understanding their needs, and appreciating the joy and spiritual lessons they bring. Whether it’s providing a safe haven in your garden, cherishing a beloved pet, or simply taking a moment to appreciate a rabbit sitting quietly in the grass, it’s a beautiful way to connect with the natural world and find a little bit of magic in everyday life.
