HOW I USE SCRIBBLE IN GOODNOTES

Goodnotes is very useful once you know how to utilize its tricky features. This is a small tutorial of how I utilize the Scribble feature in Goodnotes when taking notes for college!

Step 1: Make sure Scribble is turned on in your Apple Pencil settings. Here you can also try the feature and allow your device to understand your handwriting better.

Step 2: Open Goodnotes and select a notebook that you would like to work in.

Step 3: Make sure your settings are to your liking. In my Goodnotes, I had adjusted my default font and font size. I like to use the font "Marker Felt Thin" as it reminds me of handwriting. I do adjust my font size frequently when taking notes for titles or headings but mainly I use 21 point font for my notes. I also adjust the order of items in my toolbox! I prefer the textbox comes first as that is what I use the most, and the highlighter second because I also frequently utilize that as well.

Step 4: Now select Textbox and tap anywhere to place it. Begin writing with your Apple Pen even if the keyboard is still up. Your device should pull your handwriting and apply it to the font in the textbox.

Tips: I found practice makes perfect. Sometimes when I have had issues I wanted to give up and just go back to paper notes or typing, but the more I practice using Goodnotes the better I have gotten. Do not be discouraged! It is okay for your device to make mistakes.
