... Read moreOkay, so you've seen my initial highlights, but trust me, there's even more magic to uncover in Puerto Rico! I want to dive deeper into why these spots are absolute must-visits and share some extra tips I picked up along the way, especially for those looking for unique excursions and things to do at night. First up, let's talk about Night Kayaking in San Juan Bay. This wasn't just a scenic tour; it was an entire experience! I was a bit nervous at first, paddling in the dark, but cruising through the calm waters of San Juan Bay under a sky full of stars was utterly mesmerizing. Our guide was fantastic, sharing fascinating stories about the bay's history, making the journey both peaceful and educational. The highlight for me was definitely the clear-bottom kayak – it felt like a window into another world below, even catching glimpses of small sea creatures! It's truly one of the best things to do in Puerto Rico at night, and something you absolutely have to experience to appreciate the city's beauty from a whole new perspective. It’s an excursion that feels both adventurous and serene. Next, if you're looking for an upscale evening with breathtaking views, Eter Rooftop Restaurant is a total game-changer. The 'BE HIGH @ Éter' neon sign really sets the mood as you step out onto the terrace. The panoramic views of the San Juan skyline are just breathtaking, especially at sunset as the city lights begin to twinkle. I loved how their versatile menu offered everything from delicious tapas to full entrees, and their cocktails were divine! It's definitely a spot for a special occasion or just to treat yourself to a luxurious night out. Remember that dress code; it adds to the chic atmosphere of one of the top places for things to do in Puerto Rico at night. Beyond dedicated rooftop spots and night kayaking, the general nightlife in Puerto Rico, especially in Old San Juan, is fantastic. My friends and I tried a bar crawl, which we booked easily on the Viator App, and it was such a fun way to experience different local spots and meet fellow travelers. We ended up at a place reminiscent of one of those lively local spots like 'el CAFETÍN' that you see in pictures, with incredible music and a vibrant crowd. It's a super affordable way to get a taste of Puerto Rico's lively evening scene and definitely falls under the umbrella of fun things to do. While exploring all the fun things to do, don't forget to consider some day excursions beyond the city! For example, the Luquillo Kiosks near Luquillo Beach offer a fantastic array of authentic food and souvenirs – it's an excursion in itself for your taste buds! And if you're feeling adventurous, jet skiing or canoeing at Luquillo Beach is a blast. Puerto Rico truly offers something for everyone, whether you're looking for historical sites, relaxing beaches, or thrilling adventures. Every corner of the island offers something unique, making it an ideal destination for any type of traveler looking for an unforgettable time.
