It takes a toll on your everyday activities and overall outlook on things that sometimes that you forget your end goal. Im here to tell you though , harping on your struggles will only make them bigger. No im not saying to just ignore them or distract yourself from the chaos 😵💫 BUT! dont let your struggle hold you where you are because its comfortable. GET. UNCOMFORTABLE . stay moving , find things that truly brings you pieces of happiness ( self care, eating fruits , a hot soak 🛁 , a new show or book 📕) anything that brings you comfort in times of distress . The winter months can be challenging for many, often triggering feelings of sadness or depression, commonly known as seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Understanding the emotional impact of the holiday season is vital in addressing these seasonal blues. This emotional state can stem from several factors including reduced sunlight exposure, holiday-related stress, or personal challenges that coincide with this time of year. Engaging in self-care practices can play a crucial role in alleviating feelings of sadness. Activities such as spending time outdoors when the sun is shining, establishing a regular exercise routine, or even participating in enjoyable hobbies can significantly improve mood and energy levels. Finding a support network can also be beneficial; talking to friends or joining online communities focused on mental health can offer essential support. Practicing mindfulness and gratitude can also help in re-framing one’s mindset. Keeping a gratitude journal to jot down positive experiences or aspects of life, no matter how small, can provide a counterbalance to negative thoughts. Making deliberate efforts to socialize, even when you don’t feel like it, can also introduce warmth and connection, helping to ease feelings of isolation. Lastly, don’t hesitate to reach out to professionals if feelings of sadness persist—there's no shame in seeking help and engaging with mental health resources. Remember, the journey through the winter months can be made lighter with the right tools and support.
