Family golf outings!🏌🏼
You know, finding activities that everyone in the family genuinely enjoys can be tough, right? But for us, golf has become that unexpected gem. Our latest outing, which you might’ve seen a glimpse of in the main post, was just another reminder of how much fun a family golf day can be. Forget about trying to break par; it's all about the laughs, the friendly competition, and yes, sometimes even those frustrating bogies and bunkers! One thing I've learned is to adapt the game to suit everyone. We often play scramble format, which takes the pressure off individual scores. It means everyone contributes, and we celebrate good shots together. For the younger ones, or even those just starting out, we sometimes introduce 'gimme' putts or let them drop a ball from a tricky spot. It keeps the pace moving and prevents anyone from getting too discouraged. I was so proud when I pared the last two holes on our recent trip, even if I did get a couple of bogies earlier on – it’s all part of the journey! Choosing the right course also makes a huge difference. While a full 18-hole championship course can be a blast, we often opt for shorter par-3 courses or even a local driving range for a more relaxed session. Mini-golf is always on the table too, especially if we have really little ones along. The key is to find an environment where everyone feels comfortable and can just have a good time without too much pressure. Beyond the game itself, we love making memories. That's where capturing moments comes in. My Insta360 ONE X2 has been awesome for this! We get some really cool shots and videos of our swings, our reactions to good (and not-so-good) shots, and all the banter in between. Like that conversation about whether things in the way were called 'bogies' or 'bunkers' – totally priceless! It's not just about the golf; it's about the shared experience and having those memories to look back on. And honestly, don't sweat the small stuff. We keep score, but it's more for bragging rights than serious competition. We even make up our own little challenges, such as 'closest to the pin' on a par 3 or a 'longest drive' contest. It adds an extra layer of excitement and keeps everyone engaged. So, if you're looking for genuinely fun family activities, I highly recommend giving golf a try. It’s more than just a sport; it’s an opportunity to connect, laugh, and create lasting memories out on the green. Give it a shot – you might just find your new favorite family tradition!
