Let’s talk about Anxiety 🙇🏾♀️
I’ve had anxiety my entire life. I just didn’t know what exactly it was. In my 30s, I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. To hear the therapist say that the trauma I’ve experienced in my life caused it- was a total relief. Finally I didn’t feel completely crazy anymore- I had a “why”….
Here are some things I’d recommend to manage your symptoms:
✨Go to therapy & take meds. It’s okay to admit you need professional help because trying to manage your symptoms alone just isn’t working. This was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. With the support of my therapists, developing new coping skills has changed my life.
✨Pray/meditate. Releasing your cares to a Higher Power or connecting with your Higher Self will give you a sense of peace.
✨Learn some breathing exercises. These are especially helpful when your body is having a panic response and you feel out of control.
✨Listen to music. Any genre will work. I prefer listening to solfeggio frequencies like 528hz or 432hz. Every solfeggio tone has frequencies necessary for balancing your energy, and keeping the spirit, mind, and body in a harmonious state. YouTube is a great place to find these.
✨Write. Journaling your feelings and experiences will help you release anxiety because you’ve shifted your focus.
✨Dance/ exercise. You don’t need to be stage-ready or a gym rat to do this. Just a few minutes of movement releases endorphins, the feel good hormone into our bodies.
✨Develop a support system. Use that lifeline and phone a friend. Now this one can be hard. Anxiety will cause you to believe that no one understands, make you feel embarrassed or even make you isolate yourself. When really you should do the opposite. Embracing care from others has helped me through some dark times.
✨Get creative! Draw, sing, paint, create content, cook, do arts & crafts, etc. These things will refocus your mind and make you feel a great sense of accomplishment when you’re done.
There are sooo many other things you can do, but these are just a few of my personal go-to remedies. What are some things you do to improve your anxiety? Let’s help each other out. Leave a comment❣️
