As Mother’s Day comes to an end, I just want to say thank you to everyone who played a part in bringing me joy this weekend. This one was rough, as it was my first Mother’s Day away from my kiddos in the 10 years I’ve been a parent.

To everyone who checked in, sent a message, made a call, or linked up with me this weekend — thank you. I truly appreciate you all more than you know.

Today almost cracked me, but I’m proud that I still chose to end the day pouring back into myself. I got my workout in and started finding my way back mentally and physically. One step, one moment, one day at a time. #Mothersday #grounding #makingmemories #naturevibes #fitness

I realized how much this day symbolizes not just motherhood, but connection and celebration of shared memories. To cope, I leaned into self-care practices that helped ground me. Exercising became my refuge, a way to reconnect with my body and clear my mind. The fitness session wasn’t just a physical routine; it was a deliberate form of mental healing. Moving through the motions, I reminded myself to take one moment at a time and embrace the healing process gently. Gratitude also played an essential role. Receiving messages and calls from loved ones reminded me how supportive my community is. It made me appreciate the little joys and connections that sustain us in challenging times. Moments of mindfulness, like immersing myself in nature and practicing grounding techniques, helped bring calm and centeredness amid the emotional whirlwind. I also took a moment to reflect on the wellness theme of the day. Incorporating wellness into difficult emotional times can be transformative—whether it’s through spa-like self-treatments, meditative quiet moments, or just allowing myself to feel and acknowledge all the emotions. Mother’s Day might be tough without children physically present, but it’s also an opportunity to embrace self-kindness and cherish the journey of motherhood in all its forms. I’m learning to create new memories and rituals that honor my role and my wellbeing. Ultimately, this experience is teaching me resilience, patience, and the power of self-compassion.
