Winter Solstice Ceremony
Our Kindred Healing Space gathering was a true pause in time.
We honored rest, explored why we resist it, and listened deeply through journaling and card pulls, learning how to nourish ourselves more gently.
We lit candles with one word for the year ahead, journeyed inward to meet the spirit of winter, shared a somatic tea ceremony, and then shifted into calling back the light with crafting, connection, laughter, and snacks (including a very loved Swedish cardamom cake).
I’m endlessly grateful to hold spaces like this, to build sacred containers where rest, reflection, and creativity meet.
If you’re feeling the call to gather in this way, through ritual, healing arts, and soulful connection, I’d love to support you.

Until we meet again.
The Winter Solstice marks the longest night and shortest day of the year, traditionally symbolizing a pause and an opportunity for introspection and renewal. Engaging in ceremonies like the one at Kindred Healing Space offers a profound way to honor this natural shift. Incorporating elements such as lighting candles with intention, journaling, and card pulls allows participants to reflect on the past year and set meaningful intentions for the year ahead. This ceremony’s inclusion of a somatic tea ritual not only nourishes the body but fosters a mindful connection to the present moment and inner self. The act of gathering to illuminate the darkness together resonates deeply with the solstice’s theme of calling back the light. Crafting and laughter help build communal bonds while creatively expressing joy and hope during the darkest time of the year. Rest, often resisted in today’s fast-paced culture, is honored here as a vital ritual for self-care and growth. Learning why we resist rest and how to accept it gently can transform stress into rejuvenation. Celebrating with beloved treats like Swedish cardamom cake adds warmth and comfort, enhancing the sense of sacred community. Participating in these seasonal rituals connects us to the cycles of nature and encourages healing on emotional, spiritual, and physical levels. Whether you are new to such ceremonies or a seasoned participant, these gatherings provide a supportive container to slow down, reflect deeply, and emerge renewed. The invitation to join upcoming classes and events underscores the ongoing value of maintaining such sacred practices. If you feel called to explore rest as ritual and engage with healing arts, seeking out or creating your own solstice ceremonies can be a transformative practice for integrating intention, creativity, and soulful connection into your life year-round.
