Cream Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Doritos Chicken 🥓🧀

Ingredients:

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

2 cups crushed Doritos (any flavor)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and black pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions:

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Prepare the Chicken:

Using a sharp knife, carefully cut a pocket into each chicken breast, being careful not to cut all the way through.

Make the Filling:

In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Stuff the Chicken:

Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each chicken breast pocket, pressing the edges to seal.

Coat the Chicken:

Place the flour in one shallow dish, the beaten eggs in another, and the crushed Doritos in a third.

Dredge each stuffed chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then press into the crushed Doritos, ensuring the chicken is well coated.

Bake:

Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is crispy and golden brown.

Serve:

Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your creamy, cheesy, and crunchy Cream Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Doritos Chicken!

... Read moreHey everyone! You know how much I adore a good, comforting dinner, and this Cream Cheese & Bacon Stuffed Doritos Chicken is totally up there. It's so good to see that crispy, orange coating when it comes out of the oven, and nothing beats cutting into it to find that delicious melted cheese and savory filling oozing out! While the original recipe is a total winner, I've picked up a few tricks and variations over time that take it to the next level or just help me switch things up. Thinking of Wrapping it in Bacon? Yes, Please! One common question I get is about stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon. While my core recipe doesn't include it, it's an absolutely fantastic addition! If you want to try this, after you've stuffed the chicken breasts, gently wrap one or two slices of thin-cut bacon around each breast. You can secure it with a toothpick if needed. This not only adds an incredible smoky flavor but also helps keep the chicken incredibly moist. Just be aware it might make your Doritos coating a little less visible in some spots, but the flavor trade-off is totally worth it! It’s a game-changer for that bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed chicken experience. More Stuffed Chicken Filling Ideas Beyond the classic cream cheese and bacon, which is a dream, there are so many ways to customize your cheese stuffed chicken. For those who love a tangier note, using Philadelphia cream cheese stuffed chicken breast is a natural choice, or you can even mix in some blue cheese crumbles for a bolder flavor. Wondering what to stuff chicken breast with? Try adding sautéed spinach, finely chopped jalapeños for a little kick, or even some sun-dried tomatoes to the cream cheese mixture. For an extra cheesy experience, blend in some mozzarella or a sharp provolone with your cheddar. This makes for an even richer chicken with bacon and cheese combination that my family raves about! Doritos Magic: Beyond the Coating We all love that crispy orange coating from the Doritos, right? But did you know Doritos can do so much more? For extra flavor, crush different Doritos varieties – Nacho Cheese is classic, but Cool Ranch or even Spicy Sweet Chili can add a fun twist. If you're wondering about other Doritos recipes, sometimes I'll sprinkle a few extra crushed Doritos directly onto the stuffing mixture before closing the chicken, just for an internal crunch. And for a super simple appetizer, have you ever tried a quick cheese dip with sliced cheese topped with crushed Doritos, or even scooping the cream cheese with doritos? It's a surprisingly delicious snack! For those curious about doritos with melted cheese, you can even make quick Doritos nachos to serve alongside your chicken. Perfect Sides for Your Stuffed Chicken To complete this amazing meal, choosing the right side dishes for stuffed chicken breast is key. I almost always pair it with a fresh green salad to balance the richness, or some simple roasted vegetables like asparagus or broccoli. Garlic mashed potatoes or a light rice pilaf are also fantastic options that complement the creamy, cheesy chicken beautifully. Don't forget a sprinkle of fresh parsley for that pop of color, just like in the recipe, it makes it look so inviting! Achieving That Picture-Perfect Melt and Crisp To get that gorgeous shot of melted cheese and filling oozing out when you cut into your chicken, make sure your cream cheese is truly softened before mixing, and don't overcook the chicken – that keeps it juicy and allows the cheese to remain perfectly gooey. For that ultimate crispy, orange coating, ensure your Doritos are finely crushed and pressed firmly onto the chicken. A light spray of cooking oil before baking can also help achieve an extra golden-brown crispness. Happy cooking!
