WildfireBook Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I honestly wish I could say I liked this book, and maybe it’s cause I had such high hopes from reading icebreaker, but tbh this just wasn’t it for me.

I felt as though there was no real plot and if there were, it was bland- giving white rice with mayo.

The MC’s relationship felt more surface level than anything. On a scale of Married 4 life & Divorced within a year, they’re giving cheating after a few months and “why are you so clingy” conversations.

Overall this story just didn’t feel authentic to me & I saw no real purpose to reading this; not even for just pure entertainment/ enjoyment.

⭐️Overall rating: 3/5

(Lucky it even got 3 stars out of me)

... Read moreOkay, fellow bookworms, let's chat about 'Wildfire' by Hannah Grace. Like many of you, I've seen this book everywhere, and the buzz definitely pulled me in. When I first saw the Wildfire book cover, with its charming illustrated couple in a cozy camp setting, I immediately got those warm, fuzzy romance vibes. The vibrant pink and yellow title overlay on a striped blanket just screamed 'cute summer read,' and I was ready for it! I know a lot of us are drawn to books by their aesthetic, and 'Wildfire' definitely delivers on that front, especially with the mood board and Book Aesthetic collages I've seen floating around. They often hint at popular tropes like Friends 2 Lovers, Forced Proximity, and even a touch of One Night Stand elements – all things that usually get me super excited for a romance. These tropes promise a certain level of tension, chemistry, and character development, which is what I typically look for. Now, let's get into one of the most common questions I see about romance novels: are there spicy pages in 'Wildfire'? Based on my reading experience, while there's certainly intimacy, I wouldn't classify it as overtly 'spicy' in the way some contemporary romances are. The original review mentioned the main characters' relationship felt quite surface-level, and I found myself agreeing. For a story featuring tropes like forced proximity, I was hoping for more palpable chemistry and a deeper emotional connection to drive the romance. It felt like the "spice" was hinted at more than fully explored, leaving me wanting more depth in their interactions rather than just physical encounters. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but if you're going in expecting a high heat level, you might find it more on the mild side. This could also give an indication for those searching for a Wildfire book age rating – it's likely more appropriate for a broader young adult/new adult audience than some of the more explicit adult romance titles out there. Regarding the plot, the review described it as 'bland,' and I can see why. The camp setting offers so much potential for fun activities, challenges, and unique scenarios that could foster character growth and relationship development. However, I felt like many of these opportunities weren't fully utilized. While the idea of two rivals in a competitive environment is great for forced proximity, the execution didn't quite deliver the compelling narrative I was hoping for. It lacked those significant plot points or emotional stakes that make you truly root for the characters and their journey. For those who enjoy a quick, light read where the focus is more on the general camp atmosphere and less on intense emotional arcs or plot twists, 'Wildfire' might still be an enjoyable escape. The concept itself is charming, and if you appreciate the aesthetics and tropes without demanding a deep dive into character psychology or a complex storyline, you might find it perfectly pleasant. It's a book that, for me, didn't quite live up to the expectations set by its appealing cover and familiar tropes, but every reader's experience is unique!

Oh no 😟 I just bought icebreaker and wildfire. I was really looking forward to reading Wildfire 😭 I love cliche but if it’s like really surface level idk if I would enjoy it. Should I read Wildfire first and then Icebreaker?
