Manacled Book Review
I originally had no intention to ever read this story; not that I wasn’t a fan of Harry Potter, just not enough to read a fanfic, especially one with Draco as the love interest.
But once the news broke that Manacled was being pulled off AO3 to be published, I finally decided ‘screw it, I want to know what all the hype’s about’ and caved in.
Starting off, I was so lost and felt such unease for where the story was heading and actual hate for a character who was supposedly our love interest. I pushed through and reached a certain point in the story where everything was making sense. From beginning in the present to traveling back in our characters past, we get to see the growth and dynamic between our main characters- easing up some of the uncomfortableness I initially felt.
Although the story is rocky, especially the beginning, there was no point where I felt bored. I couldn’t not put this book down from the moment I picked it up.
This story is heartbreaking and hopeful and shows the crazy twist of evil beating out good and what would happen in a world where Harry Potter failed to beat Voldemort.
This story definitely isn’t for everyone, but it happened to be for me and I hope anyone else who reads it, comes to love it too!
