Had to buy it
Okay, so I finally did it! After what felt like ages of anticipation, I just bought Fantasy Life! The Girl Who Steals Time for my Nintendo Switch. Seriously, I’d been eyeing this one for so long, and when it finally dropped, I knew I had to get it. That little pop-up on my screen, 'Just bought Fantasy life,' felt like such a victory! As a gamermom, finding games that offer both depth and a relaxed pace is key, and the original Fantasy Life was a huge comfort game for me. So naturally, the spiritual successor had me absolutely buzzing. Setting it up on my beloved Nintendo Switch console, nestled in its cute brown bear-themed case, felt like a ritual. I even spotted Animal Crossing and Palia on my home screen, games that often fill my cozy gaming needs, but today was all about something new. My first few hours with The Girl Who Steals Time have been a delightful mix of nostalgia and fresh discovery. The world of Reveria feels as charming and vibrant as ever, and the character customization immediately pulled me in. I spent a good chunk of time perfecting my avatar – because if you're going to embark on an epic life simulation RPG, you need to look fabulous doing it, right? The core loop of choosing a 'Life' (like a miner, woodcutter, or chef) and mastering its skills is still incredibly engaging. I started off as a Woodcutter, enjoying the simple pleasure of chopping down trees and gathering resources. It's so satisfying to see your skill levels grow and unlock new abilities. The combat, while not overly complex, is fun and accessible, perfect for when I want a bit of action without the high-stress intensity. One thing that really stands out is the game's signature humor and heartwarming storytelling. Even in these early stages, the dialogue has made me genuinely chuckle, and the characters are already starting to feel like old friends. It’s exactly the kind of escapism I crave after a long day. Compared to other life sims I play, Fantasy Life always had a unique blend of adventure and daily grind, and this new installment seems to be carrying that torch beautifully. While I haven't gotten deep into the story or explored every nook and cranny, my initial impression is overwhelmingly positive. If you loved the original, or you're just looking for a new cozy RPG with plenty of charm and things to do on your Switch, I'd say this is definitely one to check out. It feels like a perfect blend of familiar comfort and exciting new possibilities, and I can't wait to delve deeper into what Reveria has in store!
