AUDIO REVIEW

Another #fridamcfadden book done. She’s become one of my favorite and go to authors. I also love the reader for her books.

I enjoyed it, just like all her others and the ending was not what I expected. There was just one part, with the bullying that I didn’t really like or get but I guess it depends on when the story is set. But overall another great Frieda book!!!!!

Let me tell you, as someone who's completely hooked on her thrillers, you're in for a treat – mostly! I just finished listening to it, and my mind is still reeling from that ending. First off, if you're like me and love a good psychological thriller that keeps you guessing, Freida McFadden is your go-to author. Her books, especially in audiobook form, have this incredible way of just pulling you in. The narration for "The Inmate" was, as usual, spot on. I find that a good narrator can really make or break an audiobook, and the one for Freida's series consistently delivers. Their voice acting adds so much depth to the characters and builds the suspense perfectly, making those twists hit even harder. It felt like I was right there in the story, experiencing every surprise alongside the protagonist. Speaking of surprises, "The Inmate" didn't disappoint. Just when I thought I had things figured out, BAM! Freida throws in a curveball that completely changes everything. I love authors who can truly keep you on your toes until the very last chapter, and she masters it every time. This particular ending was genuinely something I didn't see coming, which is rare for me these days with thrillers. Now, I did have one small point that stuck out to me, and that was a specific part involving bullying. It felt a little out of place for a moment, and I wasn't entirely sure how it fit into the broader narrative or the specific timeline of the story. However, it’s a minor point in an otherwise gripping tale. Sometimes in thrillers, certain elements are introduced to create a specific kind of tension, and it's possible that was the intent here, though it just didn't quite land for me personally. Visually, the audiobook cover for "The Inmate" with its stark, green-lit prison hallway really sets the tone for what's inside. It's perfectly eerie and gives you just a hint of the dark, confined atmosphere you’re about to explore. You know instantly you're in for something intense! If you're wondering where to grab "The Inmate" or other Freida McFadden audiobooks, I highly recommend checking your local library's options through the #LibbyApp. It's a fantastic resource for audiobook lovers, and I’ve discovered so many gems that way. It's the perfect listen for anyone who loves psychological suspense and doesn't mind being utterly surprised. Happy listening!
