On day one, my skin felt slightly warm and sensitive, which is common due to the laser targeting pigmentation and stimulating collagen. To soothe the skin, I gently applied a hydrating, fragrance-free moisturizer recommended by my aesthetician. It's essential to avoid any harsh scrubs or exfoliants immediately following IPL to prevent irritation. Also, applying broad-spectrum sunscreen daily is crucial because the treated skin is more vulnerable to UV damage. I avoided makeup on the day of treatment to let my skin breathe and heal naturally. Drinking plenty of water helped with hydration from within, speeding up the recovery process. While everyone’s skin reacts differently, light redness and mild swelling can occur but typically subside within a day or two. If you notice any unusual discomfort or prolonged redness, consulting your skincare professional is important. Overall, IPL laser sessions can effectively reduce pigmentation, sun damage, and improve skin tone, but patience and proper aftercare are key to achieving the best results. Sharing my journey openly has helped me stay realistic and encourages others considering IPL treatments to prepare accordingly.
