Hey anime fam! Following up on my little peek into my 2021 watch history, I wanted to dive deeper into some of the incredible series that really captivated me that year. You know how everyone always talks about Naruto and Death Note? Well, while those are classics, I was really into discovering a broader range of stories. My 2021 anime watchlist was packed with action, heartwarming moments, and some truly mind-bending plots! First up, Black Clover was a huge highlight. Watching Asta's journey from a magic-less orphan to striving for the Wizard King title was incredibly inspiring. The action sequences were always top-notch, and the growth of the characters kept me hooked. If you love shonen with epic battles and strong friendships, this one was definitely a must-watch for me back then. Of course, you can't go wrong with a classic, and Dragon Ball always finds its way onto my rotation. Whether it was rewatching some iconic sagas or catching up on newer arcs, the sheer power and excitement of Goku and his friends never get old. It's truly a foundational series for so many anime fans! Then there's Fruits Basket, which offered such a beautiful, emotional escape. The character development, the raw storytelling, and the way it handles themes of trauma and healing truly touched my heart. It's a masterclass in romance and drama, and I found myself tearing up and laughing in equal measure. It's definitely one of those shows that leaves a lasting impression. The Promised Neverland (especially its second season which aired in 2021!) kept me on the edge of my seat. The mystery, the survival elements, and the constant suspense made it an addictive watch. Trying to figure out what would happen next with Emma and the others was a weekly thrill. It really showed how clever storytelling can create such a unique world. And for some pure, unadulterated fun, Ouran High School Host Club was my go-to. The hilarious antics of the Host Club members, the charming characters, and the clever parody of shojo tropes made every episode a joy. It’s lighthearted, witty, and just made me smile every time. Looking back at 2021, these shows truly defined my anime year. They weren't just trending topics; they were genuinely engaging stories that I felt connected to. I always encourage everyone to venture beyond the most talked-about series and discover their own 'best anime 2021' list. There's a whole world of fantastic anime out there, whether you're looking for exciting dubs, heartwarming romance, or thrilling action. What were some of your favorite anime from 2021? I'd love to hear your recommendations!
