碓氷峠の名物「碓氷貞光の力餅」は、250年以上の伝統を持ち、その秘伝の製法は代々受け継がれています。私も実際に玉屋ドライブインを訪れた際、柔らかな餅の触感となめらかなあんこの味わいに感激しました。特に力餅の程よい甘さは、峠越えの疲れを癒すのにぴったりです。 また、力餅だけでなく、きなこ餅やからみ餅、ごま餅といった多彩な味が楽しめるのも魅力の一つ。個人的には、ごま餅の香ばしさが印象的で、何度もリピートしたくなる味でした。 店内には碓氷線の歴史やアプト式鉄道に関する写真や資料が展示されており、食事の合間にこの地域の歴史を感じることもできます。碓氷峠やめがね橋などの観光スポットに立ち寄った際は、ぜひ玉屋ドライブインへ足を運び、ここでしか味わえない郷土の味と歴史の息吹を体感してみてください。日帰りのドライブコースとしても最適で、地元の温かいおもてなしも心に残りました。群馬グルメ・安中グルメの中でなかなか味わえない貴重な体験になるはずです。
