6 months of training a Beauceron

Training a Beauceron from 8 weeks old has been such a rewarding experience. One thing I found especially helpful was using unique commands in Old Norse, which really helped Medivh respond clearly and stay focused during training sessions. I started with basic commands like heel, sit, and down without using treats as a lure, which gradually built his discipline and attention. As he grew to 6 months, I introduced more advanced commands like center and place. Maintaining short but regular training sessions kept him engaged and eager to learn. Consistency and patience were key — when Medivh made progress, I celebrated it enthusiastically, which motivated both of us to keep going. If you're training a Beauceron or any intelligent breed, I recommend starting training early and making it an enjoyable bonding activity. They're very loyal and thrive when given clear guidance. Also, incorporating exercise and play alongside training helps maintain their physical and mental health. Seeing Medivh’s growth over these months has been amazing, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come together in training.
