Book Review📖

Book name: Night Shit

Author: Annie Crown

Genre: Romance / basketball romance

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.⭐️

My review: so for starters I rated it 3.5 ⭐️ but on my good reads it says 4 but doesn’t mean I didn’t like the book! It was great not really much plot it was just your typical romance book, it was a very short read and it was pretty quick to get through because it isn’t boring, I feel like they got straight to the point which isn’t bad but there could’ve been just a little more to it, the miscommunication was something that annoyed me but it was minimal I think the smut was good, over all quick and easy read like I said no brain cells just vibes 😂👍🏻

... Read moreOkay, so let's dive a little deeper into 'Night Shift' by Annie Crown! After my initial read, I can totally see why it's gaining buzz, especially for those of us who adore a good sports romance. The book cover itself, with the blonde woman holding a book and the brown-haired man with his basketball in a pink library aisle, perfectly sets the scene for this delightful blend of brains and brawn. It's categorized as a basketball romance, and it definitely delivers on that front. You get the athletic hero, the compelling female lead, and enough tension to keep you turning pages. While my initial review mentioned it's a 'typical romance,' that's not a bad thing at all! Sometimes, you just need those familiar tropes executed well, and Annie Crown does a great job here. Think meet-cutes, witty banter, and that slow burn that eventually erupts, making it a very quick and enjoyable journey. My experience reading it was exactly as described – a very quick and enjoyable journey. I appreciate that it gets straight to the point, making it perfect for a weekend read or when you need a palate cleanser between longer, more intense novels. The 'minimal miscommunication' was a relief, as often that can be a major derailer for me in romance novels. It's present enough to create some minor conflict but never drags on or feels frustratingly contrived. And for those wondering about the 'smut,' let me just say it's well-integrated and adds to the chemistry without overshadowing the story. It felt natural to the characters' developing relationship. Overall, if you're looking for a low-stakes, high-enjoyment read that brings the heat and the hoops, 'Night Shift' is definitely one to consider. It's the kind of book that leaves you smiling, ready for your next dose of sweet, sporty romance. It's truly a 'no brain cells, just vibes' kind of read that hits all the right notes for a fun escape!

def agree that the miscommunication had me irked especially when the plot itself was so cute! like we didn’t need that trope in the cuteness lol!

Ooh yes! Love @alihazelwood as usual! This book features a perceived enemy and is kind of a slow burn, mainly because the protagonist, Rue, lacks emotional awareness. But I love a #greenflag guy! Some reviews say they don’t like this book as much as her others, but I kinda like it more. There
