Ravenhood Series

My Current Read & First Read of 2025✨

📖 Name of the Book: Flock, Kate Stewart

📄 Plot: When Cecilia Horner arrives in the small town of Triple Falls to live with her estranged father for a year, the plan is simple: she’ll keep her head down, work at his factory and leave a year later with her college tuition paid for and in the possession of a small fortune that will mean Cecilia can finally help her single mother in a significant way. What Cecilia doesn’t plan for is Sean, the sexy local she meets on her first day of work and who quickly introduces her to his mysterious close-knit circle of friends, including the quiet, enigmatic and devastatingly handsome Dominic.

📖 Genre: Romance, Contemporary, Thriller

📄 My Favorite Quotes: so far ✨”Time itself is just an invisible line, a measure people made up, right? You know that. And while it’s a good reference, it’s also a major stress trigger, because you’re letting it control you.”✨

💭 My Thoughts: it hooked me from the first chapter so that’s already a good sign. So far it’s getting pretty good, & has me questioning “WHATS NEXT?” As of right now I’m only on page 102, and I have no idea where it could go, & I like that about books, I hate when books are too predictable!

⭐ Star Rating: so far 7/10

... Read moreOkay, so I've been diving deeper into 'Flock' by Kate Stewart, and my initial 7/10 rating is definitely solidifying. This book, the first in the internationally bestselling Ravenhood series, is truly something else. If you're still on the fence or just looking for a more in-depth peek without major spoilers, let me tell you a bit more about the world Kate Stewart builds. Cecilia Horner arrives in Triple Falls with a clear mission: earn her college tuition working for her estranged father. She plans to keep her head down, but things quickly get complicated when she meets Sean, who introduces her to his mysterious, tight-knit group of friends. And then there's Dominic, who just radiates enigmatic intensity. It's not just a simple love story; it's a complex web of secrets, loyalty, and danger that pulls you right in. Every character, even the minor ones, feels purposeful, adding layers to the already intricate plot. Now, for the question many of you are probably wondering: 'Is Flock by Kate Stewart spicy?' Oh, darling, yes, it absolutely is! If you enjoy books with steamy, intense, and emotionally charged intimate scenes, then 'Flock' delivers. It's not just gratuitous; the spice serves to build the complex relationships and heighten the emotional stakes between Cecilia, Sean, and Dominic. It definitely falls into the 'dark romance' or 'contemporary romance with thriller elements' categories, so be prepared for some seriously passionate moments that add to the raw, visceral feel of the story. It’s part of what makes this internationally bestselling author's work so captivating and kept me glued to my Kindle. What really stands out to me as I continue reading is Kate Stewart's ability to craft characters that feel incredibly real and a plot that keeps you constantly guessing. Just like I said in my initial thoughts, the unpredictability is a huge draw. You think you know where it's going, and then BAM! Another twist. The emotional depth is surprisingly profound for a book that also has such strong thriller undertones. It’s a true page-turner, and I can see why the Ravenhood series has garnered such a massive following. The writing style is immersive, making you feel like you're right there in Triple Falls with Cecilia, experiencing every heart-pounding moment and every whispered secret. If you're looking for a book that will consume your thoughts and leave you craving the next installment, 'Flock' is definitely one to pick up. I can't wait to see what happens next in this thrilling series!
