Let’s go!✨
75 days booked challenge!
4 rules. 75 days. And lots of reading!
Hey fellow bookworms! So, you've heard about the 75-day challenge, right? It's usually about fitness and discipline, but I'm putting a literary spin on it with my very own 75-Day Booked Challenge! My goal? To read consistently for 75 consecutive days and truly immerse myself in stories. It's not just about finishing books; it's about building a sustainable reading habit and rediscovering the joy of getting lost between the pages. I've set up just 4 core rules for myself to make this challenge achievable and enjoyable. These aren't super strict, but they're designed to keep me accountable without feeling overwhelmed. My 4 Rules for the 75-Day Booked Challenge: Read for at least 30 minutes every single day. This is my non-negotiable. Even if life gets crazy, I commit to finding at least half an hour. It could be first thing in the morning, during my lunch break, or right before bed. Consistency is key here! Choose books I genuinely want to read. This is crucial for long-term motivation. I'm not forcing myself through anything just because it's popular or “should” be read. I've curated a diverse TBR (To Be Read) list with various genres – thrillers, fantasies, memoirs, and even some graphic novels – so I always have something exciting to pick up. Track my progress daily, but don't obsess over page counts. I'm using a simple reading journal to jot down the title, pages read, and a quick thought or two. The focus isn't on how many books I finish, but on the daily habit. Some days I'll fly through chapters, others I'll only manage a few pages, and that's perfectly okay. Engage with the reading community (like Lemon8!). Sharing my progress, getting recommendations, and discussing books with others keeps me inspired. It's amazing how much motivation you can get from connecting with fellow readers. Plus, it makes the journey feel less solitary and more like a shared adventure! Tips for Your Own 75-Day Reading Journey: If you're thinking of joining a challenge like this, here are a few things I've learned that might help you stay on track: Find Your “Why”: Why do you want to read more? Is it for knowledge, escape, mental well-being, or just to get through your TBR pile? Keeping your motivation clear will pull you through the tougher days. Create a Dedicated Reading Nook: Whether it's a comfy armchair, a quiet corner of your bed, or even a specific coffee shop, having a designated spot can signal to your brain that it's “reading time.” Eliminate Distractions: Put your phone on silent, turn off the TV, and let your family know you need some uninterrupted reading time. Those 30 minutes can be incredibly peaceful and productive. Mix Up Your Formats: Don't limit yourself to physical books! Audiobooks are fantastic for commutes, chores, or walks. E-readers are great for portability and reading in bed. Variety keeps things fresh. Don't Be Afraid to DNF (Did Not Finish): If a book isn't grabbing you, it's okay to put it down. Life's too short to read bad books. Move on to something that excites you and keeps your momentum going. Celebrate Small Wins: Finished a book? Read for a whole week straight? Treat yourself! A new bookmark, a fancy coffee, or just a moment to appreciate your achievement can be a great motivator. This 75-day challenge isn't just about reading; it's about discipline, self-care, and building a habit that enriches my life. I can't wait to see how many incredible stories I'll discover and how much I'll grow as a reader. Wish me luck – and maybe even join me!
