Tomorrow marks one month since my dad went home to be with the Lord.
I miss him more than words can describe.
Some days I smile because of the beautiful memories we shared. Other days, the ache feels so heavy that all I can do is pray and trust God to carry me through.
If you’re grieving too, I want you to know you’re not alone.
God sees every tear.
He hears every prayer whispered through heartbreak.
And He stays close to the brokenhearted, even when healing feels far away.
I’m holding onto the promise that this goodbye isn’t forever because of Jesus. One day, I’ll see my dad again. Until then, I’ll keep trusting the One who is holding both of us.

From my personal experience, allowing yourself to fully feel the sorrow without judgment is essential to healing. Sometimes, just breathing and accepting that it’s okay to not be okay can bring surprising relief.
In the midst of pain, I found great comfort in the acknowledgment that God is near to those who are brokenhearted. Verses like Psalm 34:18 and Psalm 147:3 remind us that the Lord not only sees our tears but actively heals and binds our wounds. Holding onto these promises provided me with hope and a space to grieve without guilt.
One thing that helped me immensely was connecting with others who are also navigating grief. Sharing memories and feelings breaks the isolation that loss often brings, and hearing others’ experiences can remind us that this journey, while deeply personal, is shared by many.
It's also vital to be gentle with yourself throughout this process. Grief doesn’t follow a set timeline; some days will feel unbearably heavy, and others may offer moments of peace and even smiles as memories bring warmth. Whatever you feel is valid and worth honoring.
For me, faith has been the anchor that allows me to keep moving forward. Trusting that this farewell isn’t forever and that reunion is promised gives my heart a reason to keep hoping. Grief truly is love that still remains—love that lingers in memories, prayers, and the ongoing care we have for those who have gone before us.
If you’re on a similar path right now, remember to take your time, be kind to yourself, and lean into your faith and community. You are not alone in this journey, and gradually, amidst the tears and heartache, healing will come.
