Give me your BEST advice! Especially the OVER 40s.

I will be 40 in a couple years, I was a young mom (my 16th birthday I had a 19 day old baby), I finished having kids by 23. I was married and live a full (grown already life) in my 20s. I got a degree or 2 a few certifications, ran a business and did some stupid things along the way. I asked myself here recently; Who is Samantha? Not the mom, not the wife, not the Lala but Samantha as an individual? What has she done that she LOVES for her? It was an answer I didn’t have. I’ve only ever known myself as those descriptions listed above. What are some things that I should ABSOLUTELY do before 40? What would help me learn who I AM? What is some of the greatest experiences you’ve wished you’d done sooner? I’m nearly an empty nester and it’s tough. Give me your best advice. AND GOOOO:

For women who became young mothers or focused heavily on family and career earlier in life, this stage offers a chance to explore personal identity and passions anew. If you are approaching 40 or beyond, especially as an empty nester, here are valuable strategies to discover and nurture the person you are individually: 1. Embrace Vulnerability: Allow yourself to be open and honest about your feelings and uncertainties. This openness fosters authentic connections and self-understanding, valuable for personal growth. 2. Pursue Passions and Hobbies: Revisit activities that bring joy or try new creative outlets. Whether it’s art, travel, writing, or fitness, engaging in fulfilling hobbies helps define your unique preferences and talents. 3. Continue Education and Skill Building: Lifelong learning enriches your insight and confidence. Consider courses or certifications that align with your interests or open new career paths. 4. Prioritize Self-Care and Wellbeing: Physical, mental, and emotional health are crucial. Regular exercise, mindfulness practices, and social engagement support resilience and happiness. 5. Build a Supportive Community: Connect with like-minded women over 40 through groups or forums. Sharing experiences encourages empowerment and reduces feelings of isolation. 6. Reflect on Your Accomplishments and Set New Goals: Celebrate how far you’ve come, then identify what you want to achieve next—personally, professionally, or spiritually. 7. Travel and New Experiences: Traveling alone or with friends can be transformative, offering fresh perspectives and memories that foster independence and confidence. Remember, identity evolves naturally over time. It’s never too late to redefine who you are and what you love. Approaching 40 is not an end but a vibrant new beginning to embrace your individuality fully and live authentically.
