Hey everyone! So glad you're checking out my Sanji drawing! Drawing and coloring anime characters, especially from One Piece, is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I often get asked about my process, especially when it comes to adding color, so I thought I'd share some of my personal tips and tricks that have really helped me. First off, when I start a Sanji drawing, I always pay close attention to his iconic features. His curly eyebrows are a must, of course! But also think about his confident smirk and the elegant flow of his hair. I usually begin with a light sketch to get the proportions right, focusing on his stance and expression. Don't be afraid to use reference images – even professional artists do! It helps capture the essence of the character. Once the lines are down, the magic really happens with coloring. For Sanji, his blonde hair and blue suit are key. I love using layers for coloring, whether I'm working digitally or with traditional mediums like markers or colored pencils. Start with a base color, then gradually add darker shades for shadows. Think about where your light source is coming from to make it look realistic and dynamic. For his hair, I use a few different shades of yellow and orange, blending them to give it that shiny, voluminous look. And for his suit, a deep blue with lighter highlights really makes it pop! A big tip I learned is to not rush the blending. Take your time to smoothly transition colors. If you're using digital tools, experiment with different brushes and blending modes. If it's traditional, light, even strokes are your best friend. I also find adding a subtle blush to his cheeks and a sparkle in his eyes brings so much life to the character. These are some of the 'drawings I've done' where I really pushed myself on details. Another thing I've explored is experimenting with backgrounds. Even a simple gradient behind Sanji can make him stand out more. Sometimes I even try to incorporate elements from the One Piece world, like a subtle culinary reference. It adds another layer of storytelling to your artwork. What kind of art supplies do I use? For traditional, I'm a big fan of alcohol markers for their vibrant colors and smooth blending, but good quality colored pencils can achieve amazing results too. Digitally, I usually use Procreate or Clip Studio Paint, and there are tons of tutorials out there to help you master them. Remember, drawing is all about practice and having fun! Don't get discouraged if your first attempt isn't perfect. Every drawing is a step forward. I'm always learning new techniques, and seeing my progress motivates me to keep creating.
