✨ Privacy is the ultimate form of self-care. ✨
In a world where oversharing feels almost expected, I’ve made a conscious choice to protect my energy by keeping my Instagram and Facebook private. Over the last year, I removed over 1,600 followers from my Instagram—people who no longer needed access to my life.
Yes, I do share on TikTok (and maybe here… Lemon8, you’re new, so we’ll see). But even then, I’m intentional. Not everything is meant for public consumption. Some things deserve to remain sacred.
My son is too young to consent to being online, so I’ve made it my mission to protect what I share about him. My marriage is a safe, loving partnership, and part of keeping it strong is by being intentional about what I let the world see. And my friends? They didn’t sign up to be part of an online narrative, so I respect their boundaries as much as I honor my own.
As Taylor Swift so beautifully said: “Privacy sign on the door and on my page and on the whole world.”
I choose what I share, when I share it, and how much I let the world in. Setting boundaries isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Protecting your peace isn’t isolating—it’s empowering.
So if you’re ever questioning whether it’s okay to pull back and draw lines in the sand, let this be your sign: it’s okay. In fact, it’s brave. Protect your space. Protect your energy. Protect the ones you love. 💛
In today's digital landscape, maintaining privacy is crucial for mental well-being. With the surge of oversharing on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, many individuals are reevaluating what they choose to share online. Setting boundaries is essential, particularly for parents who navigate public sharing while safeguarding their children's privacy. Choosing not to broadcast every aspect of our lives can help cultivate deeper, more meaningful connections with loved ones, away from the glare of public scrutiny. Moreover, it’s empowering to reclaim our narratives by deciding what information to disclose. This intentional approach fosters greater peace of mind, allowing individuals to nurture their personal and familial relationships free from external judgment. Embracing privacy isn’t just a strategy for self-protection; it’s a conscious choice that promotes mental wellness. It’s vital to reflect on who gets access to our lives and how sharing impacts our mental health. Drawing lines can serve as both a shield and a source of strength, enabling a balanced life that prioritizes inner peace and genuine connections.

Ooh! I love this for you, girl! So right about boundaries. Having access to you is a luxury that not everyone should get. Totally respect that! I’m glad I had my son before social media, I’m not sure I’d have respected his lack of consent. 😂 I truly admire that. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
