I’m a piggy figgy ✨

I have a huge obsession with this ballsack shaped fruit especially in fragrances. It can be so complex ranging from a very green and herbal to very sweet and floral in presentation. To me it always gives a very sexy romcom main character energy.#discontinuedperfume #fragances #perfume #figs

... Read moreAs a true fragrance enthusiast, there's nothing quite like the unique, earthy, and often sweet aroma of fig in a perfume. It's a scent that can transport you, evoke memories, and truly make you feel like the main character in your own story. My obsession runs deep, especially for those special fig-centric fragrances that, sadly, are no longer with us. It’s a real tragedy when your signature scent, or just a beloved seasonal spritz, gets axed from production. Let’s dive into some of these absolute treasures, starting with the iconic TOM FORD EXTREME. This wasn't just a perfume; it was an experience. The fig note here wasn't your typical sweet fruit; it was deep, mysterious, almost smoky, perfectly blended with truffle, patchouli, cedar, and a hint of lemon. It had an intoxicating complexity that made it utterly unforgettable. Every time I wore it, I felt like I was draped in luxury, ready for a sophisticated evening out. It's truly a shame that this masterpiece, often searched for as 'Tom Ford fig perfume,' is no longer readily available. Then there was Fig Fiction & other stories. This fragrance offered a slightly different take on fig, leaning into a more whimsical and perhaps more traditionally 'fruity' interpretation while retaining sophistication. The combination of black currant, fig, and bamboo, grounded by Brazilian rosewood and plum, created a vibrant yet comforting aroma. It felt like walking through a sun-drenched orchard, a perfect scent for everyday elegance. It was a lovely, accessible option that truly captured the essence of a fresh fig. Another delightful surprise was UNUSUAL FRUIT ZARA LIMITED EDITION. For a 'Zara fig perfume,' this one punched well above its weight. It beautifully highlighted the fig tree and fig fruit notes, softened by a creamy tonka bean and a warm, woodsy finish. It was unexpected and so captivating, especially for its price point. It proved that you don't always need to spend a fortune to find a unique and memorable fig fragrance. I still reminisce about its comforting, slightly sweet embrace. And who could forget Womanity by Mugler? This one was a true trailblazer, a polarizing but ultimately brilliant creation. The fig here was bold, daringly paired with caviar, fig tree, and fig leaf. It sounded unusual, and it was, but in the best possible way. It had a salty, sweet, green, and woody profile that was absolutely mesmerizing. It felt futuristic and incredibly feminine, embodying strength and individuality. It’s one of those perfumes that sparked conversation and left a lasting impression wherever you went. Finally, the beloved JO MALONE LONDON WILD FIG & CASSIS COLOGNE. This was a quintessential Jo Malone scent – elegant, fresh, and layered. The fig was beautifully complemented by green grass, juicy cassis, and subtle hints of cherry, pine tree, and cyclamen, all grounded by cedar and musk. It was a sophisticated, effortlessly chic fig, perfect for any occasion. It had a natural, almost wild quality that made you feel connected to nature, yet perfectly polished. Many, myself included, have searched for 'Jo Malone fig' hoping to relive its magic. These discontinued fig fragrances hold a special place in my heart (and my memory!). They weren't just scents; they were companions that enhanced moments and moods. While it's sad they're gone, remembering them makes me appreciate the artistry that went into their creation. Here’s hoping for a revival, or at least for new fig fragrances that can capture even a fraction of their magic!
