Visiting a rock, fossil, and gem show is a fantastic way to deepen your appreciation for natural wonders and collectibles. Popular stones like Rose Quartz and Citrine not only captivate with their stunning colors but also have unique properties that make them favorites among collectors. Rose Quartz, recognizable by its soft pink hue, is often associated with love and healing energy, while Citrine offers warm golden tones that are believed to attract positivity and abundance. At many shows, you might also come across intriguing minerals such as Viking Calcite and Chrysocolla. Viking Calcite is admired for its crystalline structure and often appears in soft pastel shades, making it both a striking display piece and a geological curiosity. Chrysocolla, usually a vibrant blue-green, is praised for its connection to tranquility and creativity. Other notable finds include Desert Rose and Selenite. Desert Rose forms through the combination of gypsum or barite with sand, creating petal-like formations that resemble blossoming flowers—perfect examples of nature’s artistry. Selenite, a transparent to translucent mineral, is frequently used for decorative and metaphysical purposes due to its luminous glow and smooth texture. When attending these shows, it's helpful to learn how to distinguish genuine stones from man-made replicas, like Smelt Quartz, which mimics natural quartz but is manufactured. Vendors often provide insights on the origins and authenticity of their specimens, adding an educational layer to the experience. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just curious, these events offer a unique blend of beauty, history, and science. Engaging with fellow enthusiasts and experts can enhance your understanding and enjoyment, turning a simple visit into a memorable journey through the Earth's geological treasures.

What I found in a day of fossil digging!! 🦖
Today was my first day back at the channel this summer and it didn’t disappoint! I was super lucky to end the day with two T-Rex teeth. I also found quite a few raptor teeth! My hopes for this summer is to find a Rex tooth bigger than last summer and to find interesting bones I haven’t found before

Dinosaur fossil sensory table for toddlers
🦖 Dinosaur fossil sensory setup for my toddler I’ve been wanting to do a dinosaur fossil sensory set up for my toddler for a while now. But all the sets I would find in stores had very small pieces that could be a choking hazard for his baby sister (that loves to get into everything he’s doing🤣)

Come ROCK HUNTING with me ✨
Thanks for joining my rock hunting journey. 🔎 Today I found lots of amazing things. Some agate, wishing stones, Jasper, Sunstone, pyrite, and even some really cool fossils. Normally, my favorite place to go is the river. I feel like the river supplies a larger variety of stones and crystals. I l

My fossil finds today from sifting!
I dig in a prehistoric river channel bed for fossils and sometimes I like to sift through the dirt I already dug through to see if I missed anything and usually I do miss cool little things like this! They aren’t worth a whole lot and it’s not always the best use of time to sift but I think it’s f

Ice Cave Hidden in Idaho’s Lava Fields 🤯❄️
I came to Idaho for hot springs and chaos. What I didn’t expect was to find a 1,000-foot-long lava tube that stays frozen all year — right in the middle of a dusty lava field. 🧊 The Shoshone Ice Caves are unreal. Outside, it’s straight-up desert. Inside? Cold air rushes out like someone left
