ADHD Hack I can’t live without
Since strep has been making its course through our household, I thought I’d share how my partner and I keep track of meds when we both have adhd and can never remember. It also helps when one of us give a dose but forgets to communicate, now we don’t miss and we definitely don’t double dose.
I used to just keep a little scrap of paper and mark every time they got a dose, but sometimes I’d forget what day we started, and if it’s supposed to run so many days, how many doses etc.
So I’ll put the time of day it needs administered, the date to keep track, and then number them so I know how many days they need it. This really works for us and most times things never work for us. These are marker boards kept on our fridge. #adhdhack #sickseason
Managing ADHD can be challenging, especially when it comes to medication schedules. Here are some effective strategies that can help improve organization and communication regarding medication: 1. **Visual Reminders**: Use large dry-erase boards or planners to visually display medication times, which can enhance memory retention for both patients and caregivers. 2. **Set Alerts**: Use smartphone apps or reminders to alert you when it's time for medication. This adds another layer of accountability and reduces the chances of forgetting doses. 3. **Medication Tracking Apps**: There are many apps specifically designed for tracking medications. These can offer features like logs of when doses were taken, refill reminders, and sharing options with caregivers. 4. **Clear Communication**: Establish a routine where caregivers check in with each other about medication. This can be as simple as a daily chat or even a shared digital calendar. 5. **Educational Resources**: Staying informed about ADHD and available treatments is crucial. Consider seeking advice from healthcare providers or joining support groups for ADHD families. Understanding the condition can help you find the best strategies for management. 6. **Daily Checklists**: Creating a daily checklist can help remind everyone involved of the day's medication schedule. This can be reassuring for both kids and adults managing ADHD. Implementing these strategies can alleviate some of the stress associated with managing ADHD and ensure better adherence to medication regimens.
