Hey everyone! If there’s one makeup look I absolutely adore, it’s a classic smokey eye. There’s just something so captivating and versatile about it, whether you’re going for a subtle daytime smolder or a dramatic evening glam. I often get asked how I achieve my smokey eye, especially since I rely heavily on my beloved Morphe palettes. So, today I wanted to share my personal step-by-step guide, incorporating the exact products I use from my original post to help you recreate this look at home! First things first, prep is key for any long-lasting eye look. While my Milk Makeup Hydro Grip primer works wonders for my face, for my eyelids, I usually start with an eyeshadow primer to ensure everything stays put and vibrant. Once that's set, it's time to dive into the magic of the Morphe palettes. I absolutely love my Morphe Cosmetics 18CT Matte Palette for building the foundation of any smokey eye. I begin by sweeping a neutral matte shade, close to my skin tone, all over my lid up to my brow bone. This creates a smooth canvas and helps with blending later. Next, I grab a slightly darker matte brown or grey from the same 18CT palette and apply it into my crease using a fluffy blending brush. The trick here is to blend, blend, blend! You want soft, diffused edges, not harsh lines. I build up the intensity gradually, adding more product and blending it out until I achieve the desired depth. For that true smokey effect, I then take an even deeper matte shade – think charcoal grey or a deep espresso brown – and gently press it onto my outer V and along my lash line. This is where the real drama starts to come in. Now for the fun part: adding a touch of sparkle! My MORPHE Moonstone Palette and MORPHE Cyber Chrome Palette are perfect for this. I love to take a shimmery silver or a metallic grey shade from either of these palettes and, using my fingertip or a flat shader brush, press it onto the center of my eyelid. This adds a beautiful pop and dimension that catches the light. For an extra touch, I might lightly drag some of that shimmer along my lower lash line as well. Once my eyeshadow is perfected, it’s time for eyeliner. I swear by my M.A.C. Cosmetics Blacktrack Gel Eyeliner for a precise, intense line. I use an angled brush to create a thin line along my upper lash line, extending it slightly into a small wing if I’m feeling extra glamorous. For the lower lash line, my Rimmel London US Black Pencil Eyeliner is a dream. I smudge it gently along the waterline and the lower lash line, blending it with a small brush to soften the look and connect it to the eyeshadow. This really amplifies the smokey effect. Finally, to complete the eyes, a few generous coats of my Rare Beauty Mascara are a must. It gives my lashes incredible length and volume, framing the smokey eye beautifully. And of course, to pull the whole look together, I make sure my skin is flawless with my NARS Light Reflecting Foundation and Concealer, a touch of Dominique Cosmetics cream contour, Anastasia Beverly Hills cream blush, Givenchy powder blush, and set it all with Huda Beauty translucent powder, finishing with NARS bronzer for warmth. This combination ensures the smokey eye is the star of the show while my complexion looks radiant. I hope this detailed breakdown helps you achieve your own stunning smokey eye look using these amazing Morphe palettes and other products. It takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be rocking this timeless style with confidence!
