Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Real Techniques sponge, and let me tell you, I was immediately intrigued by one thing I saw on the packaging: 'do not wet before use'! This is a huge game-changer for someone like me who's used to soaking my beauty blenders. My first thought was, 'How is this even going to work?' But I decided to trust the process. The sponge itself feels incredibly soft and bouncy, even dry. It's got a unique texture that's different from other sponges I've tried. I decided to test it out with my liquid foundation first. Usually, I'd apply foundation to the back of my hand, dab my damp sponge, and then bounce it onto my face. With this one, I applied a few dots of foundation directly to my skin, then used the dry Real Techniques sponge to bounce and blend. And wow! I was genuinely surprised. While I haven't had it long enough to comment on its long-term durability or how it cleans up after multiple uses (like a 'cloth after' makeup), my initial experience is very positive.
