Sharing a bit more about my life, I’ve found that embracing love over hate has been crucial in my healing process. Surviving cancer for five years and enduring 44 years of abuse wasn’t easy, but I learned the importance of never giving up. Each day, I focus on doing better than my past self rather than comparing myself to others. Music, especially Reba McEntire’s since I was a child, has been a guiding light through my darkest times. Her songs carried me through moments when I felt hopeless, providing comfort and a sense of resilience. Writing poetry and songs has become another way I express my emotions and document my journey. It helps me process difficult experiences and celebrate progress. I’m proof that even if your past holds pain, you can choose strength and joy in the present. To anyone facing similar struggles, remember: your past does not define you. Healing is possible, and surrounding yourself with positive influences like uplifting music and supportive communities can make a huge difference.
