Struggling to get through it
I loved the first few books but for some reason it feels like this one is dragging!
Anyone else felt like that and does it get better? I want to finish the series but maaan it’s difficult!

Oh my goodness, I totally get where you're coming from with 'Empire of Storms'! I've been there myself, staring at that iconic cover with the dark waves and the ship, wondering if I'd ever reach the shore of the story's conclusion. It's funny, because when I first saw the 'Empire of Storms' cover art, I was so drawn in. It perfectly captures that sense of epic journey and underlying turmoil that Sarah J. Maas is so good at conveying. You see the ship battling what looks like a tempest, and it really sets the stage for the narrative's intensity. But then, you start reading, and sometimes that intensity feels less like a thrilling ride and more like, well, a struggle to keep going, just like the text on your image says 'I'm struggling To keep going.' For me, 'Empire of Storms' felt like a massive turning point in the 'Throne of Glass Novel' series, and it does pack a lot in. It's a chunky book, and sometimes SJM's world-building and character development can feel a bit slow-burn before everything explodes. I remember thinking, 'I absolutely love Sarah J Maas,' but this particular installment was testing my patience. That feeling of the book dragging is super common with longer fantasy series, especially when there are so many plot threads weaving together. If you're wondering if it gets better, my personal take is: absolutely, yes! The pay-off in the latter half and how it sets up the finale is truly worth the effort. What helped me push through was breaking it down into smaller goals. Instead of aiming for chapters, I'd tell myself, 'Just read until the next character POV shift,' or 'Let's get through this one battle scene.' Sometimes, taking a short break from the book entirely and coming back with fresh eyes also worked wonders. I also found that discussing my frustrations (and excitements!) with friends who were also reading the 'Throne of Glass Novel' series made a huge difference. Knowing others felt the same or had insights into what was coming kept me motivated. That 'Empire of Storms' cover, with its majestic yet tumultuous imagery, is a perfect visual metaphor for the journey you're on with the book itself. It hints at the grand scale of the story and the challenges the characters (and sometimes, the readers!) face. Don't let the current pace deter you. SJM has a way of making everything coalesce into something truly spectacular. Keep going, and I promise you'll find the tides turn! You've already invested so much, and the emotional impact of finishing this part of the 'Throne of Glass' saga is immense.
