It’s been TWO years since I’ve slept “good” 🥱
My first two babies were both great sleepers once they hit the four month mark. My second born still sleeps through the night to this day (he’s three now).
However, my first baby, who is now four years old, has recently been struggling with night terrors and is awake around ten pm almost every night like clockwork (although the occurrence seems to be lessening now).
My third baby is 19 months old and rarely sleeps through the night (typically has one night waking around midnight and needs some parental reassurance before he can return to sleep peacefully).
My fourth baby, who is eight weeks/two months old currently, has one good four hour stretch at night from 8-12). And then he’s up every 90 min to two hours going forward.
I love love love my babies and being a parent, but I really do miss my sleep. 😭
My two step kids, ages eight and ten, love to sleep in now, so that gives me hope that the night wakings aren’t a forever thing with our littles. 🥺
If you’ve got some tried and true sleep techniques, please let a girl know in the comments! 🙏😩

Parenting can be rewarding yet exhausting, especially when it comes to sleep. Many parents grapple with sleep disturbances in their children, from night terrors to irregular sleep patterns. Research indicates that sleep needs vary greatly among children; infants typically wake multiple times a night, toddlers may experience sleep disruptions due to developmental milestones, and older kids usually develop more consistent sleep schedules. Establishing a bedtime routine can help ease children into a restful state. Techniques such as reading stories, dimming lights, and creating a calm environment are often effective. It’s also essential to remain consistent in your approach. Seek support from other parents facing similar challenges and consider professional advice if sleep issues persist. If you've tried successful methods, share your insights and be part of the community who supports one another in navigating these sleepless nights. With the rise of online parenting groups, you can exchange experiences and advice on platforms like Lemon8, where shared struggles resonate with others. Remember, you are not alone in this journey, and together we can help our children—and ourselves—achieve better sleep. What are your best sleep strategies? Let's discuss!

My husband still doesn’t sleep through the night. Sometimes we just have to refocus our goals away from the sleeping part and more into the “how quick can we comfort and get them back to sleep”
