- one fact about me that i don’t have to even say aloud is that i love piercings and tattoos. i *currently* have 14 piercings and four tattoos but i plan on getting a lot more of both!
- this piercing in particular was one of my most least painful, a solid 3 out of 10. it was more pressure than anything else. and it’s SOOOOO CUTE!! i also do not feel it at all even after going to a roller coaster park the day after. and helping has always been easy this far for me, so im not too worried about that!
- i absolutely love the culture and community of body modifications. it’s something i find that i can bond with a lot of people and it is a great conversation starter when making new friends! i think everyone (who is interested) shoul bite the bullet and get that piercing and/or tattoo
... Read moreAfter sharing my wonderful experience with my new forward helix piercing, I’ve been so excited to delve deeper into the amazing world of ear piercings! My recent forward helix piercing with its minimal gold stud has truly been a breeze, but I know many of you are curious about other options, pain levels, and healing for different placements. Let’s explore some popular and unusual piercings that might catch your eye!
First off, talking about my forward helix again: it's truly a gem! The gold stud I chose is so dainty and sits perfectly. Many people ask about pain, and while mine was a 3/10, remember everyone’s pain tolerance is different. What I found most surprising was how quickly it felt like 'mine' and how easy the healing has been, even with my active lifestyle. If you're considering a minimal forward helix piercing gold, I say go for it – the aesthetic payoff is huge!
Now, beyond the forward helix, let's talk about other cartilage piercings. The classic helix piercing (sometimes called a cartilage piercing) is super popular, and you can even get a double helix or a triple ear piercing for a stacked look, which is incredibly chic. My seahorse-shaped helix (as seen in my ear's collection!) is a variation that adds a unique touch. Helix piercings can sometimes be a bit more tender during healing than my forward helix, but with proper aftercare, they're so worth it. For something a bit more elaborate, an orbital piercing uses two holes connected by one piece of jewelry, creating a beautiful loop. These can be striking and truly elevate your ear piercings game.
Another fascinating option is the daith piercing. I have a decorative daith myself, and while some believe in ear piercing for anxiety relief associated with the daith, I personally got mine for the aesthetics. However, many swear by its calming effects! It's nestled in a unique spot, making it a beautiful focal point. Pain level for a daith can be a bit sharp initially, but it typically settles quickly. It's definitely one of those uncommon piercings that gets a lot of compliments.
And let's not forget the versatility of lobe piercings! Whether you have one, two, or even 3 lobe piercings, they are the perfect canvas for creative jewelry. They're usually the least painful and easiest to heal, making them a great starting point for anyone new to the piercing world. For those looking for unique piercings or something unusual piercings, it's fun to layer different styles, from tiny studs to elegant hoops. If you're a guy considering getting pierced, don't hesitate! Men piercings are increasingly popular, and ear piercings like lobes or helixes look fantastic on everyone.
When planning your next piercing adventure, always do your research! Look at ear piercing charts to visualize different placements, find a reputable piercer, and discuss your desired look (like a gold stud or a seahorse-shaped helix). The body modification community is so welcoming, and sharing your journey, just like I'm doing, is a big part of the fun. Happy piercing!
