Working out while studying has become one of my favorite ways to stay productive because it really helps me retain information much better for some reason. Maybe it's the physical activity that keeps my mind sharp and focused, or the fact that I’m engaging both my body and brain at the same time. Either way, it’s such a win-win situation—I get to stay active and fit while also making progress on my studies.

When I get my blood flowing, it's like my brain wakes up, making it easier to absorb and retain information. It’s not just about saving time; it’s about optimizing how my brain learns. So, how do you actually do it? This was my initial hurdle too. I started by exploring "exercises to do while studying." My personal favorite setup involves a stationary bike or elliptical. I set up my tablet or laptop right in front of me and go through flashcards, watch lecture videos, or even read textbooks (for subjects that don't require intense writing). For subjects where I need to take notes, I often use audio recordings of my lectures while walking on a treadmill or even just doing some light stretching at home. Podcasts and audiobooks are also fantastic for outdoor walks or runs – it feels like I'm getting a double dose of productivity! Another trick is to use rest periods during weight training to review flashcards or quick notes. Every minute counts! Then there's the debate: "is it better to workout before or after studying?" I've experimented with both. Working out before a study session can be fantastic for clearing your head and getting that rush of endorphins, making you feel more energized and focused for the books. However, I’ve found that combining them unfortunately (as mentioned above) is my sweet spot for maximizing time.
