Best hairstyle For race day🏃♀️
This is for all my running girlies. I swear by this hair style. My hair easily gets tangled and matted. With the French braids and especially the bubble braids, my hair is easier to manage later.

Okay, running girlies, let's talk race day hair! We all know the struggle: you finish a race, and your hair is a matted, tangled disaster. I used to dread washing my hair post-run because of the knots! But I finally found my holy grail, and I'm here to spill the tea on my absolute favorite 2 braids hairstyle that keeps everything secure, stylish, and surprisingly tangle-free. I know many of you might be searching for '2 braids with weave' for added length or volume, and while that's a fabulous look for many occasions, for an intense activity like a half marathon or any race, I've found that keeping it a bit lighter and more streamlined works best for performance. My secret weapon? Two small French braids that seamlessly transition into a bubble braid ponytail. Here’s how I get my race-day ready hair: Step 1: Prep Your Hair Start with clean, detangled hair. I usually apply a lightweight anti-frizz serum or a little leave-in conditioner, especially if my hair is prone to flyaways. This helps keep everything smooth while braiding. Step 2: Create Your Two Small French Braids Part your hair down the middle, from your forehead all the way to the nape of your neck. Clip one side away. On the unclipped side, grab a small section of hair at your hairline. Begin a French braid, adding small sections of hair from both sides as you work your way down the side of your head. Aim to keep the braids relatively tight but comfortable. Once you reach just behind your ear or the nape of your neck, secure it temporarily with a small elastic. Repeat on the other side. Now you have your foundation: two secure French braids. Step 3: Transition to the Bubble Braid Ponytail Gather both French braids and the remaining loose hair from the back of your head into a low ponytail. Secure this with a strong elastic. This is where the magic happens! Now, take another small elastic and place it about 1-2 inches down from your first ponytail elastic. Gently pull the hair between the two elastics outwards to create a 'bubble' effect. Continue this process all the way down your ponytail, spacing the elastics evenly and fluffing out each section to create those perfect bubbles. This technique not only looks super chic but also keeps your hair from tangling on itself during movement. Step 4: Lock It In with Hairspray for Lasting Hold This step is crucial, especially for a race. Once your braids and bubbles are perfect, generously mist your entire hairstyle with a strong-hold hairspray. Pay extra attention to any loose strands around your face or the nape of your neck. This ensures everything stays put, even through sweat and wind. I've found that a good hairspray makes all the difference in preventing those annoying flyaways and keeping my style looking fresh from start to finish. Why do I swear by this style? For starters, it prevents my hair from becoming a tangled mess post-race. The braids keep the hair close to my head, minimizing friction. The bubble braid adds an extra layer of security and keeps the length contained. Plus, it looks great in photos! I even saw the caption on one of my finisher photos saying, 'BEST HAIRSTYLE FOR RACE DAY,' which just made my day! It's super practical, and I can easily rock it for my half marathon in Honolulu, HI, or any other race. While adding weave can definitely enhance a braided look, for active sports, I personally prefer to keep it natural and light. If you absolutely want to incorporate extensions, I’d suggest clip-ins that match your hair texture, applied before braiding, but always test it out during a training run first to make sure it's comfortable and secure. For me, though, this natural French and bubble braid combo is the ultimate race day winner. Give it a try – your hair will thank you!

Genius! I hate dealing with my hair when I run. French braids are my go-to, but I'm going to try the bubble braids next time.
