My tips for College Orientationš¤
I feel like college orientation is so scary for many people and I genuinely think it is because so many people just do not know what to expect, so here are some of my tips to help you feel as prepared as possible.
This is going to be such a fun time, but remember that there is a purpose to learn about the university, the programs, classes etc. Catching that information is key for starting your time with success. The biggest is creating your schedule, so be prepared!!
I think the thing I want to emphasize is that this is such an exciting time, it is like your first college memory, so make the most of it! For me this means not skipping out on any of the events, saying yes to going with a groupo to get ice cream after the long days, small chatting everywhere!

College orientation can indeed be overwhelming, but itās also filled with potential for new experiences and friendships. To make the most of your orientation week, spend time exploring the campus to familiarize yourself with key locations such as your classes, student centers, and dining halls. This not only helps you feel less nervous but also allows you to discover valuable resources, such as clubs and student organizations you may want to join. Plan to attend all orientation events. These activities are designed to help you meet fellow students, make new friends, and learn about university life. Connecting with peers can enhance your college experience, so donāt hesitate to participate in social events or group outings. Bring a notepad or your laptop to take notes. This is vital for keeping track of significant dates and deadlines, class schedules, and other essential information shared during orientation. Review your degree catalog ahead of time so youāre prepared to discuss your major and course options with academic advisors. Lastly, dress comfortably! Youāll likely be walking around a lot during orientation, so wearing comfortable shoes and clothing is essential. Embrace this opportunity to start your college adventure on a positive and proactive note.
