Honest Review of Parisian Bakeries pt 1
⭐️Overall rating: 2/5
💰Price: 3.70 € per cookie
Cocoliscious: incredibly mid cookie, it wasn’t even warm or gooey, it was like a tad crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside but the inside just looked greasy, also the coconut nibs didn’t taste like coconut, idk they resembled croutons more which was off putting lol
Divorce Me: I’m a sucker for double chocolate cookies but when I say this was the most mid double chocolate cookie I’ve had, I mean it. The chocolate was genuinely bland like it had no flavor and honestly the best part was the white chocolate cause at least it tasted like something but everything else had no flavor. Also in terms of texture, it was the same as the first cookie but what made it better was that it wasn ’t as greasy looking and the white chocolate tasted good
After my recent visit to Scoop Me a Cookie, where I tried their 'Cocoliscious' and 'Divorce Me' cookies, I've learned a few things about navigating the incredible world of Parisian bakeries. While those didn't quite hit the mark for me, Paris is still a treasure trove for anyone searching for the 'best gourmet cookies' or an authentic 'french bakery' experience. My journey to find delightful 'parisian style cookies' continues, and I want to share some tips based on my explorations. First off, don't just stick to the most advertised spots. Sometimes, the truly best 'cookie shop near me' is a small, unassuming patisserie tucked away on a side street. While I visited Scoop Me a Cookie, located at 47ter boulevard saint-germain, which has a distinct 'bakery exterior,' I've often found hidden gems by simply exploring. A great indicator is a bustling line of locals – that's usually a sign of quality and freshness! When it comes to what makes a 'parisian style cookie' truly stand out, I believe it's all about the texture and the quality of ingredients. I'm looking for that perfect balance: slightly crisp on the outside, but wonderfully soft and gooey on the inside – not greasy, as I sometimes encountered. The chocolate should be rich and flavorful, not bland, and any added elements, like coconut or fruit, should taste authentic. I've seen some bakeries offering unique flavors such as 'Matcha Cranberry,' 'Matcha Lait,' and 'Matcha Noir' in their display cases, and while I haven't tried them all, a diverse selection often suggests a chef who loves to experiment with quality. If you're on the hunt for 'best sweets' in Paris, broaden your horizons beyond just cookies! French bakeries are renowned for their incredible macarons, éclairs, tarts, and even delicious 'pie' options. Often, a bakery that excels in one area will have other fantastic baked goods worth trying. While my review focuses on an in-person experience, for those wondering about 'best cookies to order online' or 'gourmet cookies delivered,' many Parisian patisseries are now offering online ordering for pick-up. It’s a convenient way to secure your treats, especially for a special occasion or if you're planning a picnic by the Seine. My biggest takeaway? Don't be discouraged by one less-than-stellar experience. Every Parisian bakery offers a unique charm and specialty. Keep exploring, trust your instincts, and you're bound to discover your new favorite sweet spot. Happy indulging in the sweet wonders of Paris!
