Context & thoughts:
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 pop up cafe in Shibuya
Overall not bad but priced a bit high (even for a collab cafe)
The black flash pasta was a generous size which was a nice surprise and perfect for dinner
At first I thought the dessert portion was small but they were both extremely sweet so I don’t think I could handle much more
The Yuta drink didn’t taste very good but the shimmer was beautiful
Overall rating: 3/5
Dishes I Ordered & Price
Yuji Black Flash pasta
Panda-cotta Parfait
Naoya dessert
Yuta drink
Choso berry milk drink
Stepping into the Jujutsu Kaisen Chugai Collab Cafe in Shibuya felt like entering a scene right out of the anime! As a huge JJK fan, I was beyond excited to check out this pop-up, especially since it ties into Season 3. The atmosphere truly sets the stage for an immersive experience. Right away, I was greeted by large standees of my favorite Jujutsu Kaisen characters – Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuta Okkotsu, and even Panda – all dressed in cute cafe aprons. It was so cool to see them in a different context, and it definitely made for some great photo ops before even sitting down. The interior of the Chugai Grace Cafe itself was beautifully decorated with subtle JJK themed elements, making it a proper JJK restaurant experience rather than just a regular cafe serving themed food. Every corner seemed to have a nod to the series, from the wall decor to the table settings, which really enhanced the overall vibe. It’s not just about eating; it's about soaking in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Now, let's talk about the JJK cafe menu! I dove right in, starting with the Yuji Black Flash pasta. This dish was visually striking, with its dark pasta and a vibrant red sauce, complete with a Yuji Itadori character pick. It was a generous size, perfect for dinner, and honestly, tasted pretty good! For desserts, I couldn't resist the Panda-cotta Parfait – a tall glass dessert with creamy white elements and black accents, topped with an adorable Panda character pick. Then there was the Naoya dessert, presented in a black bowl with green matcha, red beans, and chewy mochi, also featuring a character pick. Both were extremely sweet, as the original review mentioned, so they're definitely for those with a sweet tooth! The Yuta drink, a shimmering blue concoction with a character tag and matching coaster, was truly beautiful to look at, even if the taste wasn't my favorite. And the milky red Choso berry milk drink, also with its own character tag and coaster, rounded out my order. One of the biggest draws for any collab cafe, especially a JJK collab, is the merchandise and collector's items. Throughout my meal, I admired the collection of various Jujutsu Kaisen character coasters and food picks that came with the dishes. It’s always fun to see which characters you get! If you're planning a visit, I'd recommend going early if you're hoping to snag some exclusive merch, as these limited-time cafes can get quite busy. Even with the slightly higher prices, the unique experience of dining amidst your favorite Jujutsu Kaisen characters and trying themed dishes like the jujutsu kaisen pasta and jujutsu kaisen dessert makes it a must-visit for any fan. It's truly a special way to celebrate the series and immerse yourself in its world.
