Dress Up Black Hmong Cat Village Sapa Travel Nature

Fleeing north of Vietnam to live slower at Cat Cat Village and then feeling that nature really helped reset us. 🌿⛰️

This trip was intended to go to Sapa because I wanted to see the steps with the nearby hill villages. And I chose to come to Cat Cat Village because it is an easy-to-travel village. It is not far from the city. But the traditional lifestyle of the Black Hmong is quite clear. When I come to the entrance of the village, I can see that the atmosphere is different from the city of Sapa immediately. The weather is cooler, the chaos is gone, only the wind, the sound of the water and the surrounding mountain view.

Another thing that is very intended is "wearing black Hmong" because I want to get in with more places. There are a lot of rental shops around the entrance. Choose according to the style. Either a smooth dress or a full set of jewelry. The rental price is about 100,000 - 150,000 VND (about 150-220 baht). Some shops have a service to dress up. Both sashes, silverware, hats or covers make the look more complete.

When I put on my costume and walked into the village, it really changed, like we were not just tourists, but became part of the atmosphere there. The black Hmong dress contrasted with the green of the mountains and the stepped fields. No need to try to find a corner, because almost every corner is beautiful.

The structure of the village will be a downhill walkway, gradually gradient down to the bottom. Along the way, there will be traditional wooden houses, native shops, small cafes and intermittent photo stops. The main highlights are wooden bridges, waterfalls and open mountain views, each of which has a different charm.

Admission to the village is about 70,000 VND (about 100 baht). It is worth it because it is not only natural, but also a real Hmong lifestyle. Some of them will see the villagers sitting embroidered, weaving or selling handmade goods on the side of the road. It is a simple but charming sight.

On the way, there is a stream flowing through the village. The deeper you go, you will find a waterfall, which is another place where people like to take pictures. The sound of the waterfall and the cold atmosphere makes you feel refreshed without trying.

It's very convenient to get here. From downtown Sapa, you can take a taxi or a motorcycle. It takes about 5-10 minutes. The cost is about 50,000-100,000 VND (about 70-150 baht). Or, if you want to absorb the atmosphere on the way, it's recommended to walk down. It takes about 20-30 minutes. The view on the way is great. See the mountains, houses, and the way of life in the area.

But I have to say that the walk in the village will be fairly steep, because it is a way down the hill. The legs may be chill, but the return leg will be a little tired. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and for a little time, so that you do not have to hurry, because this place is actually more suitable for slow walking.

The other thing I like is the balancing of tourist attractions and community. Although there are many tourists, the simplicity of life here is not completely commercialized.

Anyone who likes to take pictures here is very suitable. Especially in the morning or late afternoon, the light is very beautiful. Make the picture soft and dimensional. The more you wear black Hmong clothes is to make the picture look more story, not only the view, but also the cultural picture in it.

Coming to Cat Cat Village for us is not just a visit, but a break from the rush of life, a slow walk, a breath of good air, and a full atmosphere. It's another place to be missed if Masapa isn't.
