... Read moreStarting over isn't easy, especially when you've faced setbacks like a back injury. That's exactly where I found myself, feeling frustrated but determined to get back on track. My previous fitness journeys have always taught me one thing: consistency is key, but so is self-compassion. This time, I'm approaching things differently, focusing on sustainable habits and celebrating small wins. One of the first things I did was get an INBODY scan. It was eye-opening to see my body composition in detail – not just the number on the scale, but muscle mass, body fat percentage, and water levels. This data really helped me set realistic goals. My aim is to safely lose about 6-8 pounds a month, focusing on fat loss while preserving muscle. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and understanding my body's starting point was crucial. Meal prepping has become my secret weapon. Sundays are now dedicated to planning and preparing healthy meals for the week. This saves so much time and prevents those 'what should I eat?' moments that often lead to unhealthy choices. I usually make a big batch of grilled chicken, roasted veggies, and quinoa, then portion it out. And yes, those 5 AM workouts? They're tough to start, but I've found that getting them done first thing sets a positive tone for my entire day. Laying out my workout clothes the night before and having a pre-workout snack ready makes a huge difference. To stay motivated, I've implemented a personal reward system. It's not just about reaching the big goals; it's about acknowledging the effort along the way. For hitting my weekly workout targets, I might treat myself to a new book or a relaxing bath bomb. And yes, there are planned 'cheat meals' – I call them 'treat meals' – usually once a week. This isn't about guilt; it's about balance and enjoying food without feeling deprived. It makes the healthy eating sustainable long-term. I even created a monthly calendar to track my progress and mark down my rewards. This journey isn't just physical; it's mental too. The 'before' photos I took were a raw moment of acceptance – recognizing that I'm beautiful at any size, but also committed to being healthy. The support from a community of like-minded women is invaluable. Knowing others are on similar paths, sharing tips, and offering encouragement makes all the difference. Remember, every restart is a chance to learn and grow. Let's keep pushing forward, one healthy habit at a time!
