SAN FRANCISCO ITINERARY
Welcome to the San Francisco adventure! Sharing my itinerary of the first trip to San Francisco, this series will guide you through the must-visit spots.
Day 1
✈️ After arriving at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), rented a car and took a 20-minute drive to Emeryville, a charming town between SF and Berkeley. Known for its quieter vibe, Emeryville offers great views of the Bay, easy access to the city, and a more budget-friendly option for accommodation.
It’s the perfect base for exploring the Bay Area, with quick access to both SF landmarks and nearby attractions!
🏨 Booked a room in the Four Points by Sheraton, which is right off the highway. After settling in, headed to this cozy Turkish café in Emeryville for a delicious halal meal. Offering authentic dishes like kebabs and freshly made pita, it’s a perfect way to end the first day. Pro tip: Try their Turkish tea and baklava for a sweet treat to fuel your exploration of the Bay Area!
San Francisco is a vibrant city known for its iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and Fisherman’s Wharf. Each area offers unique experiences, from art galleries in the Mission District to scenic views from Twin Peaks. Additionally, you can explore historic sites such as Chinatown, which is one of the oldest and most vibrant Chinatowns in North America. Food lovers will be delighted by the culinary diversity that San Francisco offers. Don't miss out on fresh seafood at Fisherman's Wharf or the local favorite sourdough bread. For a richer cultural experience, visit local farmers' markets where you can find organic produce and artisanal products. When considering transportation, San Francisco has a robust public transit system, including buses, trams, and the iconic cable cars, making it easy to navigate the city. Many neighborhoods are also walkable, allowing you to absorb the city's charm while strolling its hills and waterfront. For those looking to venture beyond the city, neighboring areas include beautiful spots like Muir Woods National Monument, known for its towering redwoods, and Napa Valley, famous for its wineries. Whether you prefer a weekend getaway or an extended vacation, this San Francisco itinerary has something for everyone, ensuring you maximally enjoy your first visit!
