Summer with kids ☀️

We finally tried a Yes Day—and it was way more fun (and chaotic) than I expected 😅 From choosing breakfast to planning the day’s adventures, my 8-year-old was thriving. He picked snacks, activities, and even our outfits (IYKYK 😂). It wasn’t perfect or fancy—but saying “yes” for one whole day reminded me how much kids just want to feel seen, heard, and in charge… even if it’s just for a few hours. Definitely a core summer memory unlocked. 💛✨

... Read moreSummer is a wonderful time to create lasting memories with kids, and one exciting way to do this is through themed days like a Yes Day. This concept allows children to take charge of their day, choose activities, and plan adventures. Some ideas for keeping kids entertained can include outdoor games, nature scavenger hunts, and craft projects. Incorporating educational elements can also be a great way to sneak in some learning while still having fun. For instance, planning a simple cooking project where children can learn to make a summer snack can be both enjoyable and instructional. Additionally, visiting local parks, zoos, or museums can enhance their summer experience and instill a sense of adventure. Ensuring flexibility in plans can boost children's creativity and decision-making skills, allowing for impromptu adventures that can be just as fulfilling as planned activities. Keeping kids engaged during summer not only fosters bonding but also empowers them, making each day a new adventure!

So fun! What a core memory for the kids. It feels freeing saying “yes” to the kids (within parameters of course)
