Success looks different for everyone.

Do you think we glorify one version of success too much?

For some, success is money. For others, it’s peace or family. Why does society act like there’s only one blueprint? What does success look like to you?

... Read moreThat image really got me thinking, 'Do we glorify one version of success too much?' And honestly, my answer is a resounding YES! It feels like there's this pervasive idea, a kind of unspoken blueprint, that society constantly pushes on us. You know the one: high-paying job, big house, perfect family, constant hustle. For years, I chased that vision, thinking if I just hit those milestones, I'd finally be successful. But here’s the thing: that blueprint eventually felt like a cage. What if your idea of success isn't about the biggest paycheck, but about having enough personal freedom to pursue your passions? What if it's not about climbing the corporate ladder, but about creating a meaningful impact in your local community? I realized that while money is important for security, true success for me wasn't just about financial gain. It was about peace, genuine connections, personal growth, and feeling fulfilled in my daily life. I’ve had so many conversations with friends who feel the same pressure. We compare ourselves to what we see on social media or what our parents or peers achieved, and it can be exhausting. But why should we let external expectations define our internal sense of worth and accomplishment? For some, success is indeed building a financial empire, and that’s fantastic! But for others, it might be mastering a new skill, nurturing a vibrant garden, raising kind children, or simply waking up each day feeling content and healthy. Defining your own success is a deeply personal journey, and it’s okay if it looks completely different from what others expect. It's about taking a step back and asking yourself: What truly makes me happy? What values do I want to live by? What kind of life brings me a sense of purpose and joy? These answers might change over time, and that's perfectly normal. My definition of success today is probably different from what it was five years ago, and it might evolve again in the future. Let's really challenge that 'one blueprint' mentality. Success isn't a destination; it's a continuous process of aligning your life with your authentic self. It’s about celebrating your unique path, recognizing your small victories, and giving yourself permission to define what a rich, fulfilling life means for *you*. What does success look like in your personal dictionary?

Oh for some!! Letting go of what society considers “success” is so freeing. In so many ways I’d be considered a failure but I’ve become much happier since doing what makes me and my son happy.

I definitely think we do. Success isn’t one-size-fits-all, but social media makes it seem like money and status are the only goals.
