Made this because I wanted a simple breakfast/snack that actually keeps me full… homemade almond butter just tastes so much better 😭🫶

* 1 tsp salt

Steps:

Mix warm water, honey, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 mins.

Add flour, salt, and oil. Knead until smooth.

Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hrs.

Shape into loaf, let rise again 30 mins.

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 mins.

Homemade Almond Butter:

Ingredients:

* 2 cups roasted almonds

* Pinch of salt

* 1–2 tsp honey (optional)

Steps:

Blend roasted almonds until smooth and creamy. Scrape sides as needed. Add salt and honey if using.

Toast bread → spread almond butter → top with salted nuts ✨

I like adding flaky salt on top because it balances the nuttiness so well 🤍

... Read moreIf you're looking for a wholesome yet satisfying breakfast or snack, homemade wholewheat bread combined with fresh almond butter is a game-changer. The beauty of making your own bread lies in knowing exactly what goes into it—no preservatives or unnecessary additives, just natural ingredients that nourish your body. When making wholewheat bread, allowing the dough to rise adequately is key for a soft and airy texture. I found that the 1 to 1.5 hours rising time before shaping the loaf yields a light crumb, and a second rise before baking enhances the flavor and structure. Baking at 375°F ensures a golden crust without drying out the bread. Homemade almond butter takes this combo to the next level. Using roasted almonds gives the butter a rich flavor, and blending long enough for a creamy consistency is crucial—stop and scrape down the sides of your blender or food processor often. Adding a pinch of salt and a little honey balances the natural sweetness and nuttiness perfectly. One tip I love is sprinkling flaky sea salt on top of the almond butter once spread on the toasted bread, as it unexpectedly elevates the overall taste. This combo not only tastes delicious but provides sustained energy thanks to the fiber in wholewheat and the healthy fats in almonds. It’s a fantastic option for anyone wanting a nutritious homemade alternative to store-bought spreads and bread. Plus, customizing the honey amount or adding cinnamon can tailor the flavor to your liking. Give this recipe a try for your next breakfast or snack; it’s simple, comforting, and definitely hits different in all the right ways!
