Today was a big one for Sweetie. ❤️🩹
He was so nervous at the vet, he tinkled in the waiting room — even though he'd just gone before we left! And when he heard his doctor's voice through the wall? He whipped around, let out a loud "maow," and tried to break out of his carrier. 🥺 (Don't worry — we caught him.)
It was a lot for his little heart.
He stayed quiet most of the ride, his body stiff, his eyes uncertain.
The cold clinic floor and blue neck wrap tell the story — this wasn't just a checkup.
It was another step in a long, exhausting fight. 😮💨
But he made it through.
On the way home, something changed.
He sat in the car and looked out the window.
When we turned onto our street, he perked up. He recognized where he was. He knew. 🏡
And when we carried him inside...
He exhaled. 🧘
He gave himself a bath. 🛁
Curled into his favorite blanket.
Cleaned those sweet little paws. 🐾🫘
Then curled up tight - soft, safe, home.
He's still hurting. Still healing. But he's not giving up. 💪
And neither are we.
This boy is tough. Gentle, but tough.
And thanks to a last-minute cancellation, his appointment at UGA was moved up!
We're now one step closer to finally getting him the specialist care he needs. 🙏
