URGENT HELP

if you’re reading this, it would mean the world to me and Alta (pony) if you could at least interact with this post. By doing that you will boost the algorithm so we reach more people!

We have a go fund me set up and we’re approx halfway to our goal. This go fund me is set up in the hopes we can get some monetary help for Alta’s vet bills.

Alta is a rescue horse who found herself in a sticky situation. In january, I had seen her in a pasture and noticed she had a laceration to her leg. I notified the owners at the time whom told me they already knew of this injury. They had her less than a week at that point in time so I allowed them to do what they needed to do for her. Unfortunately on 2/25 Alta managed to barrel down a barbed wire fence in the pasture she was in. In doing this, she now has lacerated that wound even more than it was before and had cut her face this time (although that is healing naturally). At this moment in time, the prior owner made it very clear they had no intention of getting her veterinary treatment. I purchased her and her pasture mate (Moose) who is her best friend and literally her eyes and ears since she is blind in at least one eye and I assume most of her other eye.

It was then brought to my attention that the prior owner, instead of getting her veterinary treatment, used COMET CLEANER on her leg. Not even an attempt at horse medication. Thus making her unwilling to let us bandage the wound or even get near it.

This horse is extremely spooky on top of being in pain. She has a vet appointment on Wednesday, to which we are praying for good news. Since she has been in my care, she has been given sprays (antiseptic and other healing horse treatments) in the meantime which seem to be helping in my opinion.

She is also starting to become more friendly and trusting and come around. I cannot wait to watch this little girl heal and grow
