STOP living paycheck to paycheck with this tip!
Living paycheck to paycheck is rough. I’ve been there, so I get it. But through small changes, you can develop a safety net/emergency fund.
This 30 day challenge is set up to help you save $100 by the end. But feel free to tweak it to meet your goals and suit your individual financial situation.
The goal of this challenge is to develop the habit of saving money. So, doing that part consistently is more important than the amount of money you’re actually saving. Remember, growth comes from consistency over long periods of time.
There are several different ways to do this. If you work a job where you get paid in cash (tips), then I recommend the envelope method. Put the money you’re saving into an envelope and at the end of each month deposit it into a high yield savings account or brokerage account.
If you get paid electronically, then I recommend setting up auto transfers from your bank account every pay day to either a high yield savings account or a brokerage account. (I do both!) Setting up auto transfers is great for creating a habit of saving money because it removes the money from your account automatically before you even get a chance to notice it’s there.
If you would find a post about how to set up auto transfers or what to do once you have money in a brokerage account helpful, let me know in the comments. I also have a post about my top picks for high yield savings accounts, so check that out. I’m be doing an update post on that topic soon.
I hope this saving challenge is your ticket towards financial freedom. Wealth starts with a seed that we plant. 🪴
