Since I just posted my own #ArtVsArtist2024, I wanted to share a bit more about what this challenge is all about and why I love participating! If you've been seeing artists post grids of their work next to a selfie, you've likely encountered this super popular trend across social media platforms like Lemon8. So, what exactly is the Art vs Artist challenge? It's a fantastic way for artists to showcase their work alongside a picture of themselves, creating a visual comparison that highlights the creator behind the creations. It’s not just about showing off; it's a beautiful moment for self-reflection, allowing us to see how our artistic style has developed over time and to connect with our audience on a more personal level. For many, it's also a great way to track progress and celebrate their growth journey, especially when looking back at a whole year's worth of art, just like I did! When I'm getting ready for my own Art vs. Artist, I usually go through my portfolio and pick out pieces that I feel best represent my range, my favorite styles, or even works that were particularly challenging or rewarding to complete. The goal is to create a diverse and compelling showcase. Think about including different mediums or subjects – maybe a vibrant digital portrait, a serene landscape, or even something as wonderfully unique as a stylized orange flower with a green eyeball in its center, dripping a clear liquid.
